magnus (Daniel R Risacher):

"Emacs is not an editor. Emacs is a way of thinking about the world,
and as such is a way of thinking about editors. The process of
editing is Emacs, but Emacs is more than the process of editing. When
you ask what Emacs does, you are asking a question with no answer,
because Emacs doesn't do, it is done to. Emacs just is. ... I hope
this makes things clearer."

nosaj (Jason M Sachs):

Suddenly Christopher Robin began to tell Pooh about some of the things:
People called Kings and Queens and something called Factors, and a place
called Europe, and an island in the middle of the sea where no ships came,
and how you make a Suction Pump (if you want to), and when Knights were
Knighted, and what comes from Brazil. And Pooh, his back against one
of the sixty-something trees, and his paws folded in front of him,
said "Oh!" and "I didn't know," and thought how wonderful it would
be to have a Real Brain which could tell you things. And by-and-by
Christopher Robin came to an end of the things, and was silent,
and he sat there looking out over the world, and wishing it wouldn't stop.

* get a lot of work done on Seems to Me, after an 8-month hiatus
  (http://web.mit.edu/afs/athena.mit.edu/user/n/o/nosaj/www/stm.html)
* convince edward, asc, and patkao to go down to DC for a vacation
  (what a concept!)
* get a tour of random government agencies down there (does the Pentagon
  give tours?)
* go up to U. Maine and do research on sensors (I don't quite know
  my address yet)
* find a thesis topic?
* log into athena or any other computer system less than 10 times
so I can finally rest my wrists
* have fun!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (after staying practically 3 years
  continuously in this place)

therese (Therese):

Despair is the absolute extreme of self-love. it is reached when
a man deliberately turns his back on all help from anyone else
in order to taste the rotten luxury of knowing himself to be lost.
...But a man who is truly humble cannot despair, because in the humble
man there is no longer any such thing as self-pity.

yandros (Chad Phillip Brown):

Something I never would have known
  Not knowing knowledge never ennobles
All her ideas were like the smoke rings, I had to know things
She was a tangle of questions
How many eggs make up a pound?
How many ears of corn in the niblets?
I was a person who would censor "Pee Weee's Adventure"
  She was exceedingly liberal

  	And we fell in love
And the sunshine shone from the sunshine above
Fell in love, whole loaf love

Try not to think while your inside
Just keep your eyes wide wide open
I made a meal of the lighting, this was exciting
We had a real urban drama
  She always said it agin
Just when she'd said it, that when she'd say it (how's that again?)
She said my pasta was delicious, bit repititious
That kind of thing made me crazy

  	And we fell in love
And the sunshine shone from the sunshine above
Fell in love, whole loaf love

Tale a look around, the sun has gone down
And I've had a good time, have you had a good time?
I've loved without loss, I've put down my cross
You know what I know, an' I'm going go

She set me schoolhouse on fire
Down in the fire the angels are singing
Notice a beautiful fire heavenly choir

   _Fell in Love_, Moxy Fr\u:vous
