[Warning - the following is a parody! I don't really think this!] > over-educated white men who've never been really stomped on stupid, pampered feminazis who've never been really stomped on > get to do this, it's yet another one of the perks. whine about this, it's one way they get power. [End of parody - now is this a rebuttal? No, it's just name-calling, as is the original.] I've been thinking about the "white men" theory. Again, if you assert, as in your exact words "they own the world", then why do you want to give Them even more power to oppress? Surely the people harmed most will be those working for reproductive freedom and sexual liberation (obscene), gay and lesbian rights (harmful to society and "family values") and those on the political margins (subversive). Not to ignore the very real existence of class divisions, the whole thing seems to be the crudest sort of class argument - to wit, since one of the "over-educated white men" said it, it must be tied into the system of oppression attributed to the "over-educated white men". But civil liberties such as free speech are for *everyone*, and one of the most powerful ways the oppressed can make their voices heard. Note Provost Keyser, an active administration proponent of restrictive regulations, is a white man (seems rather educated, don't know about "over"). [This should probably move elsewhere ... the 'harass' meeting is alive again]
