rjbarbal (Richard J. Barbalace):
Things to do at 4am on a Thursday night:
1) Pull your second all-nighter this week solving ODEs, which aren't very
much like that part at the end of Beethoven's 9th.
2) Using only LaTeX, attempt to graph the isoclines, the direction field,
and five sample integral curves for y' = 1/(x+y).
3) Sing "I love problem sets" (to the tune of "I love traffic lights")
while scattering tiny shreads of your 18.03 PS around W20-575.
4) Hallucinate about harmonizing the melody of "I love problem sets"
in the manner of a Gregorian chant for your 21M301 class.
5) Attempt typeset your harmonization in TeX, thereby losing any sanity
that may have had remaining.
Or, if you don't like those options:
6) Punt and sleep!

For an incomplete glimpse of my schedule, take a look at
~/PostScript/scheduler.ps or my .tc file (using xcal from
the calendar locker). Let me know if you want to go sailing
once I remember how. :^)
I'm currently living at:

the telephone, guess again.
I'm mostly moved in (read "my stereo is hooked up").

You know I'd sooner forget but I remember those nights
When life was just a bet on a race between the lights.
You had your head on my shoulder, you had your hand in my hair,
Now you act a little colder like you don't seem to care...
But believe in me baby and I'll take you away
From out of this darkness and into the day,
From these rivers of headlights, these rivers of rain,
From the anger that lives on the streets with these names
'Cause I've run every red light on memory lane.
I've seen desperation explode into flames
and I don't wanna see it again...
- "Telegraph Road", Dire Straits
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Do you recall the day, I first came your way
And I had to know you
When you stepped in the way
And I smiled at you
Though I never meant to?
Hadn't thought about it
For a long, long time
But still she's here inside me
Never off my mind.
I try to hide it from you, but you know
And I hear it over and over again.
You can talk about tomorrow.
All your talkin' doesn't mean a thing.
All our yesterdays are sorrow.
Can't stop remembering.
I hear it over and over again.
I hear it over and over and over and over again.
- "Over and Over Again", Smithereens

sorokin (Jessie Stickgold-Sarah):
We go to the playground
in the wintertime
the sun is fading fast
upon the slides into the past
upon the swings of indecision
in the wintertime
in the dimming diamonds
scattering in the park
in the tickling
and the trembling
of freeze tag
in the dark
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
therese (Therese):
One day in a nuclear age
they may understand our rage
They build machines that they can't control
And bury the waste in a great big hole
Power was to become cheap and clean
Grimy faces were never seen
But deadly for twelve thousand years is
carbon fourteen
We work the black seam together
- Sting
Dream of the Blue Turtles
