Article 19327 of rec.arts.comics.misc:
From: jrd@frame.com (James Drew)
Subject: Re: LSH: Black Dawn...any takers?
The Earth-3 Legion. Founded by organized crime boss R.J. Brande after three
teenagers (Imra Ardeen, juvenile delinquent telepoath from Titan; Garth Ranzz,
Winathi runaway; and Rokk Krinn; Braalian magnoballer kicked out for fixing
games) prevented a rival gang hit. Members included Triplicate Girl, the
ideal assassin-with-an-airtight alibi; Ultra Boy, Rimborian pirate; Phantom
Girl; Bgtzlian runaway and spy; Karate Kid, following in the footsteps of his
father, the Black Dragon; Princess Projectra, exiled from Orando after a
failed coup against her own father, etc.
The "good guys" included Colossal Boy, who joined the Science Police after his
encounter with a Martian meteor; Ferro Lad, who infiltrated the Legion, was
found out, and barely escaped; Alexander Luthor, son of legendary 20th
century hero Alex Luthor; Mother Memory, hereditary heroine of Talok VIII.
And then the ones like insane genius Brainiac-5, who created the threat of
Computo to take down both Brande and the Science Police; the League of
Super-Assassins, employed by Brande's rival, McCauley.
Ah, those were fun. Maybe I'll dig them out of storage some day.
