alchen (Alice Chen):

I'd like to build the world a home
                And furnish it with love
                Grow apple trees and honeybees
                And snow-white turtledoves

I'd like to teach the world to sing
                In perfect harmony
I'd like to hold it in my arms
                And keep it company

I'd like to see the world for once
                All standing hand in hand
And hear them echo through the fields
For peace in all the land

"Teach me your song, my friend"
"I will if you teach me yours"
And we'll sing in perfect harmony
                And open every door

fallas:

My name is Luka.
I live on the second floor.
I live upstairs from you.
Yes, I guess you've seen me before.

If you hear somethin' late at night--
Some kind of... troublesome kind of fright,
Just don't ask me what it was.
Just don't ask me what it was.
Just don't ask me
What it was.

I think it's 'cause I'm clumsy;
I try not to talk too loud.
Maybe it's because I'm crazy...
I try not to act too proud.

And they only hit
Until you cry,
And after that, you don't ask why--
You just don't argue anymore.
You just don't argue anymore.
You just don't argue
Anymore.

Yes, I think I'm okay.
Walked into a door again.
If you ask, that's what I'll say.
And it's not your business anyway...

I think I'd like
To be alone...
Nothing broken, nothing grown.
Just don't ask me how I am.
Just don't ask me how I am.
Just don't ask me
How I am.

(My name is Luka....)

Our continuing saga of ATC "upgrading" little aircraft continues with ...

One day I was flying from Page, AZ to Dallas (Love Field) in a Turbo Arrow.
(For the curious, that's about 850nm in one hop.) For various reasons, mainly
nasty, icy weather below, I ended up at FL210. (It's CCCCOOOOOLLLLLDDDDD up
there!!!!) I had a substantial tailwind -- the DME was solidly showing 250
knots for a couple of hours. On every handoff, there was the ritual
conversation:

"Blorg Center, Cherokee 4380G with you flight level 210."

"Um, 4380G, you said you're a Cherokee? Verify type aircraft?"

    "Yes, sir, that's right, 80G is a Cherokee. A PA28."

"Um, 80G, what kind of Cherokee is it that flies at 250 knots at
    FL210?"

    "A Turbo Arrow."

    (Pause)

"Oh." (Pause) "Are you SURE you're an Arrow?" ...

It was nice ticking off the miles so quickly, and I started thinking ahead
to descent. Lessee. 500fpm from FL210 is 42 minutes. Let's simply multiply
by the ground speed ... start about 160nm out. OK, time to ask for lower...

"Fort Worth Center, 80G would like to begin descent for Love Field at
    your earliest convenience."

    "80G, you're still almost 200 miles out!"

"Yes, sir, but we're not pressurized, and we'd like to do a slow
    descent..."

"Oh, okay. Forgot about that. 80G, descend at pilot's discretion to
    14,000, Dallas altimeter xx.xx."

I guess I'll have to go looking for some serious mountain wave to do that
in my non-Turbo Arrow!
