amgreene (Andrew Marc Greene):

   No more classes.

   No more books.

   No more teachers' dirty looks.

Thank you to everyone at MIT who has been a part of the last four years
of my life. I couldn't have made it without you.

To Julie, for showing me that love is a wonderful thing...
  To Debbie, for Sunday mornings...
To Heather, for being the wonderful person she is...
To Jik, for reminding me that MIT is not the whole world...
To Jay, for convincing me to double major and for Clearinghouse Summer...
To MAB, who doesn't read discuss but who has been a true friend...
To Kim Wainwright, who is as close to a god as Course VIII gets...
To you SIPB nerds, for helping my self esteem more than you'll ever know...
To the MIT G&SP, for being worth failing a class for...
To LSC, for being a living hell (yes, WORSE than Junior Lab)...
To Plucky Duck, for being himself...
To the mystery person, you know who you are...
To my parents and sister, for believing I would make it when I had doubts...
To HaKadosh, Barukh Hu, for permitting us to reach this season.

By this time tomorrow, I'll be a graduated silly-Andr'! :-)

Thought for graduation day:

Getting through the institute is much like having sex for the first
time--it's scary, it hurts, and you have no idea what you're doing most
of the time, but it feels so damn good when you finish.

Congratulations to all the new graduates!

rlcarr (Richard L. Carreiro):

Don't look back,
A new day is breaking.
It's been too long since I felt this way.
I don't mind
Where I get taken,
The road is calling,
Today is the day.
I can see
It took so long just to realize
I'm much too strong now to compromise.
Now I see what I am
Is holding me down.
I'll turn it around.
Oh, yes I will.

I finally see the dawn arriving.
I see beyond the road I'm driving.

It's a bright horizon
And I'm awaking
I see myself in a brand new way.
The sun is shining.
The clouds are breaking
'Cause I can't lose now,
There's no game to play.
I can tell
There's no more time left to criticize.
I've seen what I could not recognise.
Everything in my life
Was leading me on,
But I can be strong.
Oh, yes I can.

I finally see the dawn arriving.
I see beyond the road I'm driving.
Far away and left behind.
Left behind.

Oh, the sun is shining
And I'm on that road.

Don't look back,
A new day is breaking.
It's been so long since I felt this way.
I don't mind
Where I get taken,
The road is calling,
Today is the day.
I can see
It took so long just to realize
I'm much too strong now to compromise.
Now I see what I am
Is holding me down.
I'll turn it around.
Oh, yes I will.

I finally see the dawn arriving.
I see beyond the road I'm driving.
Far away and left behind.

Don't look back.
Don't look back.
Don't look back.
Don't look back.

 Boston

I'm free! I'm free.
And freedom tastes of reality,
I'm free -- I'm free,
An' I'm waiting for you to follow me.

If I told you what it takes
To reach the highest high,
You'd laugh and say "nothing's that simple."
But you've been told so many times before
Messiahs pointed to the door
And no one had the guts to leave the temple!

I'm free! I'm free.
And freedom tastes of reality,
I'm free -- I'm free,
And I'm waiting for you to follow me.

How can we follow?
How can we follow?

...a Joyous Commencement to my fellow graduates!

...we have at last escaped MIT's clutches!

...th-th-th-that's all, folks!

tiuzzol (Terri Iuzzolino):

If anyone has a copy of Ben Bova's book _Forward_In_Time_ that they'd like
to sell, please email me.

This little pig built a spaceship,
  This little pig paid the bill;
This little pig made isotopes,
  This little pig ate a pill;
And this little pig did nothing at all,
But he's just a little pig still.
