Itinerary:

5/2 - 5/13: Hang out in Boston, go to Steer Roast, and generally make a
nuisance of myself (and get various programs to work better in
the MIT environment while I'm there).

5/7 - 5/13: Finish the paper I didn't get done before I left. Start it
first, and then finish it, maybe.

5/14 - 5/20: Clean up my apartment (yecch), and pack up and send all my
worldly goods to either California or Boston. Work at OCIS
and set up the documentations people for the summer.

5/20 - 6/3: Hang out in Southern California, lying on Monarch Beach and
visiting with old friends. Play copious amounts of basketball.

5/22 - 5/24: Get a ride up to Berkeley and see a friend graduate, maybe?

6/3 - ?: Fly back out to Boston and (hopefully) start work. Anybody
know of a cheap way to get from Houston or California to Boston,
one way? Hitchhiking is probably too slow...

Life is curious. Sometimes one wants to freeze every moment, others
it seems it would be preferable to not be alive.

The Roast was fantastic, but I wish I hadn't gone.

(this is going out to relevant computer groups. Sorry if you get
   this twice.)

This is a request for volunteers to work on a server project that
will be used by USENET. There used to be a sever at UMass affectionately
known as the lyrics server which was used to retrieve/contribute lyrics of
any kind. It has been down for some time now, and there is an effort
underway to revive it and also improve the performance and features it
will offer.

This project touches a lot of areas, like databases, C++, protocols,
and UNIX stuff. It would be good for a resume, or even if you want
something to do over the summer. The whole world would use this server
once it is complete (no joke!).

People interested should contact Niall Emmart at

   Niall.Emmart@saturn.ucc.umass.edu

All questions/suggestions/etc. should go directly to him. I'm just sort
of the facilitator/coordinator. You can still contribute to the design
specs. since I don't think actual coding has begun yet. Below is mail
I recieved from Niall which outlines the project.

  Thank you for your time,

  Doug

Subject: Usenet Oracularity #298-02

Selected-By: mzintl@plasma.ps.uci.edu (Michael Zintl)

The Usenet Oracle has pondered your question deeply.
Your question was:

> Oracle,
> What is a hymen and how do I get rid of it?

And in response, thus spake the Oracle:

} Long shrouded in primitive ritual and religious ceremony, the rupturing
} of the hymen has today become a routine matter, involving a brisk
} afternoon's work with tools found in most suburban basements. As
} instructions for this simple procedure can be found in any handyman's
} guide, the Oracle will just provide a few helpful footnotes and
} warnings.
}
} 1) Handle all corrosive liquids with extreme care.
}
} 2) Most vacuum cleaners cannot provide sufficient suction.
}
} 3) Drill bits should not exceed 3/16 inch.

	'Ello lover (x4)

	Have you noticed
That, people are still having sex?
	All the denouncement
	    Had absolutely no effect.
Parents and counselors constantly scorn them
But, people are still having sex,
	And nothing can stop them.

	'Ello lover (x2)

	Do you realize
That, people are still having sex?
	They've been told not to,
	    Perhaps they are perplexed.
When you see them holding hands,
	    They're making future plans
	To engage in the activity.
	    Do you understand me?

		(chorus)
	People are still having sex.
	    Lust keeps on lurking.
	People are still having sex.
	    This AIDS thing's not working.
	People are still having sex.
It's been going on for quite a while.
	Perhaps, it's quite fashionable.
It hasn't gone out of style.

	'Ello lover (x6)

	It's a fact that,
	    People are still having sex.
	It's rather obvious,
	    It's just what one expects.
	The evidence is all around,
	    That everyone in every town
Has had it at one time or
	    Another in their life.
	At this moment;
	    People are still having sex.
	In a downtown condo,
Or a street in the Projects.
	Although you can't see them,
	    Or hear their breathing sounds,
	Someone in this world
	    Is having sex right now.

People are still having sex. (x4)
		(Bridge)
	Sex (x8)
