Well, NFS was like this too. It's just that for NFS, you had to know
the fileserver name before you could try to access the files.
I've accessed quite a few home directories all over the country via
NFS. And, by the way, not all of the other NFS sites are as secure as
Project Athena as (I'll leave the interpretation of that to you :-).
