Neat, it does replicate the responses quite well. But for full jik emulation, an extensive knowledge base needs to be incorporated as well. I've advocated the idea of an 'AI consultant' (see suggest#420). JIK - THE PROGRAM, as an interface to olc_answers, help, etc, could be a useful first step in that direction. When all else fails, it just replies 'RTFM'. It would be a fun case of inverse development. The man page written before the program, in fact used partially as a spec for the program. Think of the paper that could be written describing it - the title is obvious: "JIK - A flamacious expert system" (For those unfamiliar with the joke, the paper describing rogue-o-matic was entitled "Rogue-o-matic: A belligerent expert system"). And the program itself could have a mixture of personality and utility rarely if ever seen in such systems.
