amgreene (Andrew Marc Greene):
When the night wind howls in the chimney-cowls,
And the bat in the moonlight flies,
And inky clouds, like funeral-shrouds,
Sail over the midnight skies,
When the foot-pads quail at the night-bird's wail,
And black dogs bay at the moon,
Then is the spectre's holiday,
Then is the ghost's high noon!
As the sob of the breeze sweeps over the trees,
And the mists lie low on the fen,
From grey tombstones are gathered the bones
That once were women and men.
And away they go with a mop and a mow
To the revel that ends too soon ---
For cock-crow limits our holiday,
The dead of the night's high noon.
And then each ghost, with his ladye-toast,
To their churchyard beds takes flight,
With a kiss, perhaps, on her midnight chaps,
And a grisly-grim ``Good Night.''
Till the welcome knell of the churchyard-bell
Rings forth its jolliest tune
And ushers in our next high holiday,
The dead of the night's high noon!
- WSG, of course.

Hi! Its amazing how much information can be shared through
finger files, so I will see what I can do to tell you what you want to
know about me, but if there is something that I forget/don't mention
feel free to ask.
Major: Right now, officially I am an economics major in my
second year here. I enjoy the subject a lot, but more then anything I
think it will be a good basis for law school (my ultimate goal being
to become a corporate lawyer). As for why I am at MIT, well, for one,
according to the Gorman Report we have the number one econ department
here, but also because my interests also lie in computer science (what
I would want to do if I wasn't set on being a lawyer) AND, finally,
MIT is world reknowned.
Hobbies and Interests: Well, there is a lot I like to do but
I'll try and keep it to a minimum. As to sport I'll play just about
anything but baseball/softball. I especially like squash, soccer, and
scuba diving (I just got my open water certification two summers ago). I
am a newly initiated sister in Alpha Chi Omega, and do not know how I
would have survived here without this sisterhood.... It really is
awesome, but its also hard to describe just what the bond means/feels
like. I'm also very into photography, mostly pictures of everyday
life and nature, but also the occasional portraits. When I am not at
school I work for the department of defense as an engineering aid at a
Navy research lab in Panama City, Florida (where I am currently from).
Physical Description: I am 5'4", weigh 125lbs, have blonde
hair and big brown eyes. I don't wear/need glasses (which bothers me
sometimes because I definitely feel like I am in a minority). I would
consider myself a very conservative, yet fashionable dresser. Almost
preppy-ish, but never really outrageous, although I have been a little
more adventurous the last few times I have gone shopping.
As to literary, musical interests, well it varies a great
deal. First, music, I listen to everything from top 40, to haus, but
don't like heavy metal very much, and except for Randy Travis' Old
8x10 I don't like too much country. Now books and authors... Like
music my taste varies. I enjoy an occasional trashy romance novel,
have read all of V.C. Andrews' books, but have also read all of Tom
Clancy's novels, and thoroughly enjoy Dickens, both Emily and
Charlotte Bronte, Daphne Dumaurier, D.H. Lawrence (Lady Chatterly's
Lover was an awesome book). I could probably go on and on, but I
won't...

From: A Tale of Two Cities by Dickens
A perfect description of MIT:
It was the best of times, it was the worst of time, it was the age
of wisdom, it was the age of foolishness, it was the epoch of belief,
it was the epoch of incredulity, it was the season of Light, it was
the season of Darkness, it was the spring of hope, it was the winter
of despair, we had everything before us, we had nothing before us, we
were all going direct to heaven, we were all going direct the other
way---

From: The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald
That's my Middle West---not the wheat or the prairies or the lost
Swede towns, but the thrilling returning trains of my youth, and the
street lamps and sleigh bells in the frosty dark and the shadows of
holly wreaths thrown by lighted windows on the snow. I am a part of
that, a little solemn with the feel of those long winters, a little
complacent from growing up in the Carraway house in a city where
dwellings are still called through decades by a family's name.

From: Julius Caesar by W. Shakespeare
Why, man, he doth bestride the narrow world
Like a Colossus, and we petty men
Walk under his huge legs and peep about
To find ourselves dishonorable graves.
Men at some time are masters of their fates.
Between the acting of a dreadful thing
And the first motion, all the interim is
Like a phantasma or a hideous dream.

dsi (David S Inouye):
The secret o' life is enjoying the passage of time.
Anyone can do it, there ain't nothing to it.
Nobody knows how we got to the top of the hill.
Since we're on our way down, might as well enjoy the ride.
Isn't it a lovely ride, sliding down, gliding down.
Try not to try to hard, it's just a lovely ride.
