jcbourne (Juliet C Bourne):

The Boy and the Filberts (from Aesop's Fables)
------------------------
A boy put his hand into a jar of Filberts, and grasped as many as his fist
could possibly hold. But when he tried to pull it out again, he found he
couldn't do so, for the neck of the jar was too small to allow the passage
of so large a handful. Unwilling to lose his nuts but unable to withdraw
his hand, he burst into tears. A bystander, who saw where the trouble lay,
said to him, ``Come my boy, don't be so greedy: be content with half the
amount, and you'll be able to get your hand out without difficulty.''

Do not attempt too much at once.

lavin (Anne R LaVin):

The secret of life is enjoying
     the passage of time
Any fool can do it
There ain't nothing to it
Nobody knows how we got to
     the top of the hill
But since we're on our way down
Might as well enjoy the ride...

sethf (Seth Finkelstein):

Private (uncensored) xpix is now in peril of ceasing to exist. It has
been laid low not by censors, but by space and time pressures. The
machine which has hosted it in the recent past, the famous
Frumious-Bandersnatch, is having trouble with a memory upgrade, making
it crash frequently. In addition, it just underwent an upgrade to
release 7.0 which resulted in a loss of ~ 12 Megabytes of free space. It
is unclear how much of the collection will return to its disk, when this
will happen, or even if it will occur at all.
I have copied the entire private collection into bitbucket, in
the directory /mit/bitbucket/xpix, for people to make any copies desired
before the collection vanishes entirely. I'll leave the bitbucket
directory until it gets deleted, automaticly or manually. The total
space usage now stands at ~30 Meg. I recommend that copies of people's
favorite pictures be made as quickly as possible, as files in bitbucket
are not guaranteed to exist for any period of time.
There has been some discussion about a possible future direction
in the Athena_Notes meeting, but nothing concrete has materialized. I am
not hopeful that the necessary space and libertarian host will be found.
R.I.P.
