"Andrew" messages can contain music and animation. The demos are
nice, and there's one that "contains" a functional piano. It takes a
powerful workstation to run them effectively, but they add new meaning
to the phrase "bells and whistles".
RT speakers can reproduce some sound, and someone could look
into modulating the vax bell. One project I've thought about is to try
to figure out how to send an approximation of Mac and Amiga digitized
sounds through the primitive sound reproduction mechanisms on most
Athena workstations. This would be useful mostly for entertainment and
hack value, but it might be a nice way to learn about such formats.
