Well John, as an experienced uncle there are two key things I've learned:
1) Never let anyone but the kid refer to you as "Uncle John".
2) All you have to do is show up for the annual birthday party
with the sort of present only a single software professional
can afford, and the kid will think you're just wonderful,
which gets you off the hook of having to please the rest
of the family. Heh, heh...
