I have a plan! It's to cross a picket line and have dinner
in New York Saturday night for my birthday. (That's assuming,
of course, that Eastern starts earning their wings again.)
An intersting typo just made me realize that first comes the
birth, then the brith, but what happens then?

You think *I'm* nerdly? My parents didn't send me a birthday
card -- they sent me a disk with the card on it.

day's work, in each other's arms, it's just natural to them, no
tension or hidden feelings. The suitcase bears it stoically, but you
know he wishes he there were another suitcase he could share with, be
on equal terms, not lie or be lied upon. The laundry bag is nestled
up beside him but it's no use, they're just too different, the zipper
makes him uptight.
There's a brown streak on the ceiling. The clothes plead ignorance,
they say there's no way, I have an alibi, but the towel is smirking,
he's found that happy medium. Not folded, nor messy, he's draped over
the back of a chair. Looks like the perfect solution but you can see
the creases start to form, by the time he's forty he'll look like a
prune.
Books on a shelf, leaning on one another, less and less tilted, more
and more sturdy, until we reach the dictionary, completely vertical,
unemotional in its strength. It's proud of its job but tired
of it. It will never talk to the suitcase but you know it should.
