celine (Adam Weishaupt):
Glib. Once?
No, at least until the end, then I'll have my cup o' noodles
and laugh at all the air-sucking hangers on.
Peopled fanatic continuances of unimportant activities is the name of
the game, and we all have to play. "Punch my ticket please, I'm done."
"OK, I suppose you've got me curious - why?"
"What do you mean you don't know!"

elsj (John E Elsbree):
New England Telephone sucks again!
Sometime last week, the wire coming into my house was no longer carrying my
phone service. It started acting as an extension of someone else's line.
Who knows who has *my* phone service now?
As usual, the people at NETel are bending over backwards to be incompetent
and unresponsive.
Of course, they have no incentive: I can't go to a different phone company.
However, I can boycott all other NYNEX products and services... and I
recommend you do the same.

jmh (J Michael Hammond):
I have a vision of Texas in my rear-view mirror. This vision
will become reality on Tuesday.

"And you wonder will I leave her, but how?
I cross all the borders but I'm still there now!
How can I leave her? Where would I start?
Let man's petty nations tear themselves apart,
My land's only borders lie around my heart!"
-Anthem, from the musical "Chess"

"While Capablanca played combinations effortlessly, and Alekhine
played them dynamically, it can be said that Tal plays them viciously."
-from "Selected Chess Games of Mikhail Tal"

lara (Lara J Descartes):
To make Steve ecstatic!
To get straight A's on finals (Bah hah hah!)

nrp (Niki R Pantelias):
"And she says I've come to set a twisted thing straight
And she says I've come to lighten this dark heart
As she takes my hand I feel her imprint of fear
And I said I never thought of finding you here"

You know you've been a student at MIT too long if:
- food service cashiers make comments about the sorry state of your
meal plan card
- your meal plan card has your birthdate on it
- your freshman R/O week wasn't "dry"
- you remember when the only general student computer accounts were
on Multics
- you remember when beer was served at Twenty Chimneys
- your collection of notebooks and textbooks take up more space than
the standard MIT dorm bookshelf
- you can claim you've eaten at the F&T Diner
- you've paid less than $1.00 for a small (not tiny!) cup of Tosci's
- you remember when Amherst Alley was a two way street
- you've seen ivy growing on the sides of Senior House
- you remember when The Tech called for McBay's resignation
- you remember when there weren't overhead traffic lights at the Mass.
Ave. crosswalk
- you start writing lists like this
