adbuckth (Athena D. Buckthought):

Plan: Mary had a little lamb,
Her fleece was white as snow.
And everywhere that Mary went,
Her lamb was sure to go.

She followed her to school one day,
So Mary shot her dead.
So now she carries her lamb with her,
Between two slices of bread.

Ha! Love? What do I look like, a fool?

I started reading Sartre, but got nauseous very soon thereafter.

So I turned to Nagel, who convinced me that the absurdity of the
condition of human life is indeed built into our form - On the one
hand we are active creatures with instincts and conscious drives to
accomplish goals and on the other, we are able to step back from our
daily existence, and analyze ourselves from a objective viewpoint.

This analysis enables us to see that every goal of man, be it the
search for truth, beauty, love, justice, fairness, and on and on, are
all ultimately subject to rational doubt.

This doubt leads to the fundamental anxiety that leads individuals to
pursue the meaning of life, and also to classify life as absurd.

Nagel then raises another very important question - Is the fact that
life is absurd really a problematic one? I'm currently trying to
tackle this one...
