so some of you may have gotten mail about this already; for those of you
that have, this is a reminder, and for those that haven't, consider it an
invitation.
at 7am tomorrow (by which i mean sunday, since i haven't slept yet :), a
strike force will be heading down to the esplanade to annex the best
spot we can find for viewing fireworks. we will be there all day, for
much longer than anyone should spend on the esplanade at once, but it'll
be fun! just like a really long picnic, but with fireworks at the end!
come and go as you please, but we shall be much happier to be graced with
your company. especially come afternoon, when the rest of boston comes
by and starts coveting all of our space if it's not covered by people...and
i'd really rather not have to fend them off with a sledgehammer if i don't
have to. :)
what to bring: water, blankets, water, sunscreen, water! we will have
some quantity of all of these, but it's much better not to run out.
you are also encouraged to bring food and games to share...it'll make
it that much more likely that you'll get bribed with the Secret Stash of
Milanos(tm). :) tomorrow promises to be a very hot day, so please be
prepared.
where: if you plan to join us at 7am, we will be meeting in the apo office.
if you're running (reasonably) late and wish to join us then (it'll be fun!
and you not only get first crack at all our supplies, but also an opportunity
to help choose our position. :), you should email me and i'll wait.
reasonably. :) after that, you shall have to fight your way through the
crowds on the esplanade to reach the oasis indicated by the blue "Alpha Phi
Omega" banner. we will very likely be somewhat across from the barge, along
the river. you can also look for the funny hats; i'll bring at least one,
although i won't guarantee i'll be wearing it. :)
come, join us! bring your friends! bring your housemates! bring your
visitors! 'tis open to all, although if you're bringing 50 of your closest
friends, you ought to give me a warning first. :) i hope to see you there!
