AXAA BLOOD DONATION AND DINNER TRIP: Tuesday, May 11, 1999
Alumni, actives, pledges, and friends welcome.
It's time once again for the Second Tuesday of Every Odd Month Blood
Donation and Dinner Trip. Blood donation will take place at the Countryside
Bible Chapel in Lexington. Dinner will take place where ever the people who
show up decide to go. Come next tuesday to bleed, for dinner, or to bleed
and eat dinner.
Note: There will probably be a change in location in July. Last year the Red
Cross moved to an alternate location during the summer because the Bible
Chapel doesn't have airconditioning. However, it's too early to actually get
a reliable answer from the Red Cross.
The donor center is open from 2 pm to 8 pm. If you are planning on giving
blood, please arrive by **6:45 pm** so we can eat by a not too unreasonable
hour. The Red Cross has changed their procedures. Now if you make an
appointment, they pre-print info for you. Since I never have an accurate
list of specific names and the Red Cross never got the group appointment
block right more than 1 time in 6, I'm given up on trying to make
appointments for the group. If you know in advance that you are coming, you
should call the Red Cross for an appointment (800-GIVE-LIFE -- this is a
different phone number than in the past). Otherwise, simply show up.
As usual, I will coordinate rides for those of you without cars. Let me
know if you can give rides or need a ride. Even if you are planning your
own transportation and can't take passengers, please RSVP so I know how many
people to expect. Options for RSVPing are calling me at home(781-646-3118),

Directions to the Bloodmobile in Lexington: Countryside Bible Chapel, 480
Lowell Street, Lexington
Take Route 128 to exit 32B - Middlesex Turnpike. Turn left onto the
Middlesex Turnpike. Go 1.5 miles -- you will go past the Middlesex Mall and
cross the Lexington town line. Somewhere along here the road will start
looking rather residential. The Countryside Bible Chapel will be on the
right. There is parking at the back of the building.
