Thanks for all the WONDERFUL congratulatory messages that I
have been receiving! I suppose everybody wants an update on
my wild and adventurous life!
We spent a cozy couple of days squeezed in my little
apartment with my poor roommate, since Tom's place is quite
far from campus and I have to be here quite early in the
morning.

(All right, my graphics skills are lame; ^that is supposed
to be a sunrise.)
Anyway, Dora got a bit of a break when Tom flew off midweek
to Bolivia to get fish samples for some of the
electrophysiological experiments that his lab is working on,
since his P.I. (principal investigator) was busy in Japan.
That was kind of a bummer, but he came back with enough
frequent flyer miles to take us both on a weekend trip to
Egypt. Unfortunately, he took an unwise dip in the Nile and
became infected with an especially virulent form of
Toxocariasis which, as the parasitic disease lecture didn't
occur until yesterday, I failed to diagnose. Consequently,
he developed sudden blindness while seeking breakfast fruit
alone in the marketplace, blundered into a knife-throwing
competition and left me a widow with a lot of strange fish.
I hate to spell out g u l l i b l e for you guys after all
those wonderful, supportive messages. But the marriage
announcement was mailed on April 1st. april fools.... ;)
