hello, all-
i'd like to thank everyone who came to yesterday's project: ian chan,
melissa dullea, sam hoolihan, carolyn jones, dave peaceco, jamie
rosenblum, nitin thaper. despite a few setbacks, for example one of
the vehicles arriving a bit late due to some confusion with the
concepts of "north", "south", "right" and "left" in addition to some
other confusion on the part of the anonymous <ahem, cough cough>
navigator...
well anyway, the project went well. we installed siding on a house in
quincy. brothers climbed up rickety ladders and on ancient rusted
scaffolding and had an excellent time playing with hammers and tape
measures and knives while defying gravity and helping the
disadvantaged. the work was cool and gratifying, although it ended a
bit earlier than planned since someone mentioned that we shouldn't
stay on rooves while it was snowing...oh well. we still got a lot of
stuff accomplished and had fun too!

7 - number of APO people on project
25 - number of sandwiches we had to eat, thanks to our trusty food PC,

7 - number of u-turns our vehicle made en route to project
17 - exit number off of route 3 south that we were supposed to take
2 - number of "exit 17's" off of route 3 south. d'oh!
1.29 - average number of hammers per person while on project...

...anyway, i definitely recommend working with this group again; i had
a lot of fun, they're about to start framing another house next
weekend so their work is definitely cut out for them, and they were a
nice bunch of people.
