Minutes of Chapter Meeting, Sept. 9, 1998

Start: 7:56 pm; End: 9:57 pm Present: Ann-Marie, Katie, Grant, Jake, Laura,
 Michael, Yale, Joe Kuchta, Ari, Ira, Emily, Cathy, Brian, Ellen

Preface:
~~~~~~~
President (Ann-Marie): This term I want to focus on handling business matters
  during Execcomm, and on the general status of the chapter during Chapter
  meetings.  To foster fellowship this term, we have various pictures for you
  to color here, cookies, milk, and cute animal things.
Officers' reports:
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
SVP (Cathy): The Boston Food Bank project is this Saturday, PC'd by Michael.
  Sunday of the next weekend, we go to Waltham Community Farms, where you
  pick the food, and they give it away. The PC is Emily. More projects
  need PCs: walking the Freedom Trail for CCFA, and Chapter Weekend I
  at Nobscott on Oct. 10. On October 3rd we'll do contruction in a
  haunted house. I'd like to sample opinions on alternatives for the rest of
  the month.

  The general preference is to haunt in the house we work on (rather than
  George's Island), but to not work there two weekends in a row. There is
  no enthusiasm for the City Year program.

FC (Brad): I would like to decide on firm dates for the remainder of
  the fellowship program.

APOcEd (Emily): The first issue is published. The second issue's deadline
  is Wednesday, and publication is Friday. Write your articles.

PubDir (Emily): We have a drop poster and infinite corridor panel.
  Thanks to those we helped to paint and put them up.

AVP (Michael): If your address has changed, let me know.

Treasurer (Oscar): not present

Historian (Ann-Marie): I'm working on "The Next Twelve Years" of the
  AXcoAPO files. I need 4-10 more volunteers to help. We plan to finish
  in mid-October. I would like office changing to happen on Sunday, 11 am
  to 4 pm. The office needs to become a clean place, not a dumping zone.

President (Ann-Marie): If you want to go to Nationals, send me mail.
  I need a Nat'ls Chair to help organize this.

MVP (Brian): We have lots of prospectives.
  I've made the new membership policies.

ASC (Ari): The office is dirty. If the dirty stuff is yours, clean it up.

Committee Reports:
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Robert's Rules:  (Ari) We have rules.  You implicitly agreed to them.
  They're in the office and online.
UMOC:  (Ari) The UMOC Committee is formed.  We're doing many things differently
  this term.  A description of changes will arrive at the next chapter meeting.
  This week the Candidates Subcommittee meets.  Next week the main UMOC
  committee meets.
Chapter Book:  (Cathy) The Chapter Book is a resource of everything.
  I put it on the coffee table to be perused, and someone put it back
  in the Chapter Book mailbox.  Please don't do that.
Joecomm:  (Cathy) Congratulations to our advisor Joseph Kuchta,
  who is now the national pledge class namesake.
New Business:
~~~~~~~~~~~~
Membership Policies

MVP (Brian): The only change this term is to expect five projects from
  a pledge instead of six, since the pledge term is two weeks shorter.

Policy friendly amended to include fees, and extenuating circumstances clause.
