4/17-19 CHAPTER WEEKEND II--This is a neat one. In exchange for
painting their sprinkler system to match the walls, we get
to stay for free in Vermont's Talbot House. Not only are
we doing service, but we'd be free to hike and frolic in
the woods. Yeeha. Sign up in the office RSN, or talk to
Lan <lcchang@mit.edu>
4/20 BOSTON MARATHON--Helping give water to weary runners. Except
for those cool people who aren't (i.e. Radio Operators, First
Aid people, you know who you are.). If you're planning on
helping out here, you should've already received something in the
mail from the Boston Athletic Association. Questions? Talk to
Cathy <cmcoury@mit.edu>
4/24 SPRING WEEKEND CONCERT--The CAC Program Board and Spring Weekend
Committee are looking for help with the upcoming Spring
Concert. They need AT LEAST 60 STUDENT VOLUNTEERS to help out with
stage setup, selling concessions and T-shirts at the
concert, concert security, and backstage hospitality for the
bands. Are you interested in being a PROJECT CHAIR and organizing
a group to help? Let me know ASAP! For more info, contact me
<mdullea@mit.edu> or <spring-concert@mit.edu>
5/5 MIT/CAMBRIDGE SCIENCE EXPO--3-7pm--Johnson Athletic Center--
-Meet with Cambridge kids & talk to them about their projects
-Spend the afternoon overseeing students from a particular
school; meet them when they arrive and accompany them on their
pizza break!
-Accompany students on tours of MIT labs/facilities
-Help hand out free t-shirts for all the kids and volunteers!
-Help set up or clean up
Interested in PCing this one? Let me know ASAP.
Interested in helping out with any of the listed tasks? Either
sign up through me or the PC, or email <expo@mit.edu> before
April 20.
5/9-10 HOLLINGSWORTH CENTER FOR THE HIGHLY GIFTED--They're having a
conference again in E51. Come man a registration table, or
work in the play room and play chess with kids who are smarter
than you. If any brothers helping out are interested in attending
the conference, they'll be allowed in for free during the time when
they're not working. I still need a PC. Talk to me RSN.
RSN RETIREMENT HOME VISITING & FLOWERS--We'll be refurbishing some
old flower pots by decorating them or just giving them new life
(i.e. living plants inside). Then we'll visit retirement homes
in the area for a non-gender specific celebration of Mother's Day
and distribute our plants. Good fun. If you want warm/fuzzy,
this project's for you. If you want cold/prickly projects,
this can work, too. Questions? Talk to Ann-Marie <annmarie@mit.edu>.
