**Please read this email slowly, carefully and with much
consideration...and then read it again...even if you are hosed. Any
misunderstanding here could cause you to miss your ride to Conclave**
It takes 4.5 to 5 hours to get to Conclave. Conclave is being held on
a boat. We need to be there at 10pm to check in. Not 10:15, or
10:40. 10pm. This gives just enough time for check-in and room
assignment. Promptly at 10:30, there is the safety drill. If you don't
check in and do the safety drill, you aren't on the boat. You'll have
to find some other place to sleep for the night.
The Maine roads to Conclave are winding and small, they are not
condusive to speeding. In addition, anyone leaving after 4pm will be
in the Friday rush hour, and the weather for Friday afternoon/evening
is supposed to be bad (rain, possibly heavy). The 4.5 to 5 hr time is
for a reasonable driver under reasonable conditions. The later the
cars leave, the less reasonable the conditions become.
Therefore, the last car is meeting in the office at 4:30 and DRIVING
AWAY at 5pm. This means that if you arrive in the office at 4:50 and
they have already gone to the car, you won't be going. The last two cars
are going to be cutting the times very, very close. They can't afford to
leave at 5:15 or 5:30 and get there on time.
In addition, most of the drivers have said that they are leaving THE
OFFICE, promptly at the time stated. They will leave late people.

*DRIVERS*
I need to know a few things. It doesn't seem as if anyone is going to
be leaving early. Please confirm that for me. I am assuming that
everyone will leave at roughly the same time (10:30am Sunday). As for
LL Bean, please work that out amongst yourselves. Finally, Jake would
like to be dropped off at his house in Portland. You'll be passing
right by it. He's also offered food at is parents' place for the
lucky car, or cars, that get him there :)
**FINAL NOTE FOR EVERYONE**
Please talk to your drivers if you have a time problem. Definatly
talk to your driver if you are in the car leaving at 4:45 or the one
at 4:50. You don't want to be left behind. I know there are some
people who really would rather leave later, but I don't think we have
that option. If there are any other problems please send me mail.
However, Macbeth goes up tonight at 8. Call for me is at 6. I will
not be able to get back to email between 6 and 11. If the problem
involves me placing phone calls.....to people other than MIT
students...it won't get done tonight.
Have a GREAT time! Take TONS of PICTURES!!!!!! Do tons of COOL
stuff! Then tell me about it when you get back :)
