DIRECTIONS:
(To POINT A, the intersection of Mass Ave and Park Avenue in Arlington
Heights) -- by car, either follow Mass Ave, following the bus directions
below for landmarks, or take Rte. 2 to the Arlington Heights / Park
Avenue exit. Turn right at the top of the exit ramp (or left if you're
coming
from the west) and follow Park Avenue as it winds around up the hill,
past the water tower, and down the other side. Continue straight
across Mass Ave and follow the directions from Point A below.
By bus from Cambridge: take the 77 from Harvard Sq. or the 76 from
Alewife; these both run along Mass Ave. Go past Arlington Center,
the Library, the Foodmaster, the High School, the Stop & Shop.
Start paying attention when Mass Ave curves left at a point where
a flashing yellow light prevents cars from going straight and crashing
into a laundromat. There are actually two stops between here and where
you get off, but if nobody is getting on or off you might not notice them.
The next traffic light from this point is Park Avenue, and you can get off
right at the corner. Proceed downhill onto Park Avenue (actually Park
Avenue
Extension.)
From Point A to the Party:
You're now on Park Avenue Extension, going downhill from Mass Ave.
After crossing a small bridge, there is an intersection of 6 streets. Make
a shallow right (about 2:00 on a clock face) onto Bow Street. Bow
Street will curve to the right, then to the left, then #55 is a large
yellow
house on the left. Please park on the same side of the street as the
house; walk up the driveway and through the wooden gate into the
backyard (remembering to close it behind you so the two small dogs
don't escape). The party will be upstairs -- there's another apartment
downstairs -- so go in the *second* door, which leads upstairs. Just go
right in.
