Minutes_of_ExecComm,_January_13,_1998_________________________

Administrative notes:

Start: 7:15pm; End: pm Present: Oscar, pipa, Ari, Lizzie!, Jeffrey, Laura,
Grant, Cathy, Sparky, Harry, Ingrid

Officers' reports:

SVP (Melissa): I need PCs. Youth grant stuff for spring of '99 is happening.
Thanks to Lizzie, Ingrid, and Jill for their participation. Mediation training
looks like it will be a chapter skill this term. And chapter skills weekend
will (hopefully) be at Camp Resolute.

MVP (Grant): MemComm early next week. 6.270 has been sucking my soul.

AVP (Laura): Ack, CAC sucks and thinks we're over our limit for Lobby 10 space
and gave us just four days for Big Screw. I'll go poke them. [avp note: they
thought we were Alpha Chi Omega. And they sucked worse about Lobby 7 drop
poster space for that event...]

Treasurer (Lizzie): I've been working ten hours a day on this stuff since the
beginning of IAP. Two terms are closed, lotsa terms' reports are online.
Deposits, back paperwork, debtlists updates. Pay yer debts; they are very big.
Dues are coming up, $17. I need to get people's signatures.

FC (Ari): The games and dessert fellowship thing happened. Hiking road trip
on the 24th.

APOcEd (pipa): I want to have an APOC before Reg Day and Open Meetings.

ASC (Cathy): I came back from vacation and found a clean office. Thank you.

PubDir (pipa): I have stuff for the top of the IC board.

Historian (Carolyn): (report given by Grant) I will deal with new pictures.
I'm tracking down people for photos.

President (Oscar): I want meetings shorter than an hour, and agenda items
beforehand.

Committee reports:

Conclave:
We have refunded the chapters who did not show up and have not yet refunded
individual no-shows who did not contact us beforehand. Surplus will still be
around $1500, even after that.

Sparky: The Sectional treasury is used for newsletters occasionally, and non-
Conclave section events. It can be approved to cover Conclave losses.

Lizzie: Refund all who didn't show, and kick back some to those who did. We
made money, so we must have overcharged.

Ari: Conclave account will become Carnival account.

New Business:

Membership Stuff:
Grant: I want to try to get Chapter Skills to be taught again and need people
to teach them. Last term's pledge policy and brotherhood expectations look
good.

Ari: You should read last term's feedback.

pipa: Will there be the chart of brothers and pledges?

Grant: It's ok to have that if people want it.

APOc stuff:
pipa: I want an APOC for pledges and prospectives to see. The flame book has
cool stuff... [consensus is to ask people before making their flames articles]
I want creative stuff from brothers. An introduction to APO would be cool;
maybe Yale [Yale enters] or Sparky could help with that.

Committee Chairs:
Oscar: I sent email to committee chairs. Food, Ride Board, CPR chairs open,
and Coke co-chair. If someone wants to take Sour Notes from jefreypu, that
is ok too.

[meeting closed; meeting opened]

Liaison to Alpha Chi
Section 96 Chair (Sparky): Two people who could do this are Colin Ferguson and
Craig Ashby, a recent WPI grad. This is a person I can ask what the chapter
is doing, and a person the chapter can ask about regional, sectional, and
national activities, and Conclaves, inter-chapter events, and other chapters.

Announcements:

Oscar: All officers but Historian have inboxes.

Lizzie: Lots of terms have been dealt with. Cathy and Matt will deal with
their terms, and then I will do stuff.

pipa: Write articles.

Jeffrey: I need a Book Exchange treasurer. Ok, that will be Ingrid.

Melissa: 1. I would like to be Cathy's loyal silkscreening minion. 2. I want
a co-coke chair to perhaps deal with a new/repaired machine.

PFTGOTO:

Cathy: I can put my thesis proposal in the APOC. I have a job.

Ari: Roberts Rules Comm is again not looking for members.

Lizzie: I forgot to apply to grad school.

pipa: We'll have a little puppy guest at AfterFinals.

Minutes_of_ExecComm,_January_27,_1998_________________________

Administrative notes:

Start: 7:10 pm; End: 7:45 pm Present: Oscar, Jeffrey, Ingrid, Lizzie, Grant,
Ann-Marie, Laura, Yale, Susama, Ari.

Officers' reports:

SVP (Melissa): We have project Saturday. Good fun. Bring new people. Working
on an almost-finished house. Sign up for stuff.

MVP (Grant): We had memcomm. I want to resurrect Chapter Skills. Pledge
policies and requirements are not too much changed. Hopefully we'll have
pledges.

AVP (Laura): Nothing to report.

Treasurer (Lizzie): Books are up to date! Pay yer damn debts. Dues are coming
up, $17. Checks for dues should mention dues. Waiting for End of Term reports
before FinComm. we have surpluses.
If anybody knows email addresses for old crusty people, give 'em to me.

FC (Ari): Hiking happened. Lousy weather led to low turnout. Fun was had.
Open fellowship thing Saturday. The ice rink is open 2 - 5.

President (Oscar): Yay.

Committee reports:

Carnival (Susama): Eisenmann hasn't gotten back to me, won't even talk to me.
If he gets back to me by mid-February, we'll still have Carnival. I'll call
him tomorrow.

Old Business:

Discussion of Conclave Surplus:
Ingrid: Conclave made about a $2000 buttload. Technically, all money should go
to the Sectional treasury. Cathy and I think a $2500 Sectional treasury would
encourage poor budgeting for future Conclaves.

Lizzie: Pay back whole chapters who didn't show, refund registration fee for
AXs who worked, pay some back to everyone who came. We overcharged. (Remainder
to section.)

Yale: Sectional Conclave seed money? Many chapters don't have the money to put
up for a conclave while waiting for fees to come in. Also, perhaps money could
be a fund for new chapters' treasuries?

New Business:

Oscar: Spring 1998 Chairs:
      Chapter Book: Cathy Coury
      Coke: Melissa Dullea
      Coke (Asst.): Phillip Miller
      CPR: Heather Drake
      Food: Brad Lichtenstein
      Parliamentary: Ari Wilkenfeld
      RideBoard: Lizzie! Dubroff
      Silkscreening: Melissa Dullea
      Sourfood: Jill Pelavin
Sournotes: _OPEN_ [avp note: I think this is Sara now.]
      Tools Chair: Jake Beal
Transportation _OPEN_ [avp note: I think this is Ann-Marie now.]

[meeting closed; meeting opened]

Suggestion to have Chapter Skills Day / Weekend open to campus: consensus is
to wait until we actually get it working again.

Announcements:

Lizzie: Pay yer dues and debts.

Jeffrey: Book Exchange

Grant: Open Projects and Meetings.

PFTGOTO:

Lizzie: I have a point. I'm sure I'm not pointless.

Minutes_of_Execcomm,_February_3,_1998________________________

Administrative notes:

Start: 7:15 pm; End: 7:50 pm Present: Oscar, Melissa, Laura, Jeffrey, Cathy,
Brian, Grant, Carolyn, Ari, pipa, her dog, and Lizzie.

Officers' reports:

SVP (Melissa): We had a project and got dirty and carried away. Next weekend,
make and deliver Valentines to the elderly. [avp note: delivery is Saturday
Feb 14] I need a Chapter Weekend I PC... never mind, that's Jeffrey now.

MVP (Grant): I have prospectives. I sent email to the old list before the
moira update. Oops. But it is all ok now. Open meetings tomorrow at 8:30
and Saturday (Feb 7) at 1:30 before the Red Line Study Break. Chapter
skills may be at Resolute. No posters yet, but we have IC panel space
starting Feb 7.

AVP (Laura): I'm a dork. I haven't been emailing apo-minutes.

Treasurer (Lizzie): FinComm after this meeting or at 8:00.

FC (Ari): We had really slow ice skating, without ice or skates and with tacos.
There will be Hot chocolate (but no snow) with Open Project on Feb 8. Red Line
and Open Meeting II are scheduled together.
Fishbowl of Friends with a new name and a fluff-based life form.

APOcEd (pipa): I'm trying to get an APOc out but need minutes. David hasn't
given me templates; they're on donut. [General confusion among people who
didn't realize donut is David's computer.]

ASC (Cathy): Yeah, I got stuff.

PubDir (pipa): Lotsa money from drop posters. When you get money for drop
poster, please remember to put the receipt and money in an envelope, then
into the strong box.

Historian (Carolyn): Nothing to report; I've been hosed.

Advisory Comm. Chair (Joe): No report.

President (Oscar): I was gonna say something.

Committee reports:

Book Exchange (jefreypu): Ingrid says we've deposited over $4400. We had a
slow first day, and fewer books. The list of books for classes is being used.

Conclave: No report.

Carnival (orod): Next Tuesday is Chapter meeting, second week of February. If
I haven't heard status (money or a meeting with Eisenmann), I'll add Carnival
to the business list to be killed.

Ari: It's hard to get Eisenmann to respond. I volunteer to go get an answer.

Announcements:

Melissa: Peer conflict resolution workshop at Chapter Skills Weekend. Any clue?

Cathy: I took that class over IAP.

Lizzie: FinComm meeting after this meeting.

Cathy: Something morbid on Valentine's Day.

Melissa: Come to projects. Fuzzy Valentines.

PFTGOTO:

Dinner trip to Brezhnev's now.

Lizzie: Phony smiles make me go "ennnhh."
