Well, here are the standing policies we will be considering for renewal at the
chapter meeting on Wednesday at 7PM (W20-491).  Please try to discuss them 
beforehand and come to the meeting with an opinion on them. (i.e. whether we
should renew them or not.)  Thanks!

*Move that the awarding of Distinguished Service Keys be governed by this
standing policy of the the Alpha Chi chapter of Alpha Phi Omega:

Voting for Distinguished Service Key awards, known as
DSK's, shall be by secret ballot presented to the President at least
twenty-four hours after the adjournment of the DSK meeting and
continuing for seven days thereafter. Voting shall be on blank ballots
which shall be placed in a sealed inner blank enveloope which shall then
be placed in another sealed envelope with the voters name printed on it
and his signature across the seal. At the time of the counting, those
counting ballots shall first verify that all votes were cast by eligible
voters. They shall then remove the inner envelopes and destroy the
outer envelopes before opening the inner envelopes.

A person shall be awarded a DSK on a two-thirds
affirmative vote of the active members of the chapter eligible to vote.
Attendance during some part of the discussion of DSK's at the regularly
scheduled chapter meeting that has been selected by the President for
that purpose shall be a condition for voting on these awards.

A duplicate copy of the historian's roll shall be
placed near the ballot area during voting. A list of any names brought
up at the meeting and not on the historian's roll will be placed with
the copy.

This standing policy shall replace all other standing
policies which refer to DSK's.

*Move that it shall be the standing policy of the Alpha Chi chapter of
Alpha Phi Omega that the dexion set be loaned to groups for use in Lobby
10 with the following provisions:

Only ASA/GSC recognised activities or the governments of dormitories
or Independent Living Groups may use the dexion.

The borrowing group leave a deposit of $50.00, which will be returned
on time and in good condition.

A representative of the borrowing group present the Lobby 10
reservation notice. The dexion may only be borrowed for the time of
reservation, or some part thereof, allowing reasonable time for set-up
and break-down.

A late fine be imposed of $5.00 per day that the dexion is returne
after the requested loan period, to be taken out of the deposit unless
the fine exceeds the deposit.

The representative of the activity be given a warning call if the
dexion is no returned on time. After a period of five days we reserve
the right to retrieve the dexion and retain the remainder of the deposit
as penalty.

The cost of any unusual damage or lossage be charged to the borrowing
group, to be taken out of the deposit if possible.

The Chapter President or SVP may reduce of waive the deposit in
unusual circumstances at his discretion.

That the representatives of the borrowing activity sign a release
stating these provisions, the borrowing dates, and an itemized list of
the parts borrowed.

The tools chair is responsible for the administration of the policy.

The Alpha Chi chapter of Alpha Phi Omega will not be responsible for
any damage caused by the dexion while it is in the possesion of the
borrowing group.

*Move that it shall be the standing policy of the Alpha Chi chapter of
Alpha Phi Omega that the following shall remain chapter standing
policies subject to regular amendments according to the voting policies
of the chapter.

THE LETTERPRESS FUND. This fund is on the same level as the
Chapter and National Layaway funds, the equity funds of Alpha Chi. It
has its own income/expense column in the chapter journal. The
profit/loss in the income/expense is transferred to the equity column at
thee end of each term, in the same manner as the other funds' income and
expense columns.

LETTERPRESS FUND ACCOUNTING. The letterpress fund has the
following kinds of transactions:

Operating transactions

Income. Press use Fees are credited in full to the Letterpress
Income account. Late fees are treated as press use fees.

Expense. Purchases of ink, solvents, tape, guage pins, and like
printing supplies are to be debited in full to the Letterpress Expense
account.

Capital equipment transactions

Income. The sale of type or other letterpress equipment is
credited in full to the Letterpress income account.

Expense. The purchase of type or other major letterpress equipment
is deibted in full to the letterpress expense account.


Card stock inventory transactions

Income. The sale of card stock is credited in full to the card
stock account.

Expense. The purchase of Card Stock is debited in full to the Card
Stock account, regardless of how primary payment is made (M.I.T.
Purchase Order Number, cash advance, personal check, etc.)

Special Transactions. Jobs printed for the Alpha Chi chapter of
Alpha Phi Omega shall be subject only to the Card Stock Fees incurred.
Funds from the appropriate chapter account (President's discretionary,
fellowship, service, etc.) should be transferred to the Card Stock
account. A Request for Payment (RFP) form must be signed by th officer
who authorized the particular job.

Payment. Only cash or check payment is acceptable - No M.I.T.
account transfers. No jobs shall leave the Press Shop until payment is
received.
