There are three upcoming events that I'd like to get organized ASAP that should
be dragged from the back of your mind and put center stage. Or, at least
right-center.
First, the Omicron Iota Chapter (WPI) has invited us to attend their Holiday
Formal on Friday, December 5. The dance begins at 8pm and runs till 1am, and the
cost for tickets in advance is $5. If you want a ticket that night, it will be
more, but no more than $10. There is currently a list of 4 people interested in
going. If you would like to go (even if you were one of those four, as three of
four were maybes :)), please let me know ASAP, and I'll get ya tickets. Dinner,
BTW, is not included, and you should plan to eat dinner beforehand; I can try to
find out some good restaurants in the area for those of you going. I'd like to
handle this before this weekend.
Second, the Region I and II conference is coming up Dec. 28-30. It will be in
Reading Pennsylvania, and promises to be a lot of fun. Also, starting on the
27th, there's a CPW (Chapter Planning Workshop) which is designed to help those
people who are just becoming or would like to be officers figure out how to
organize their leadership style in the context of four major offices. The cost
for the entire conference is $42.50 ($5 more if you want a kosher meal) which
breaks down to registration $15 (or $20), Banquet $20, Lunch $7.50, Tshirt $8.
You should indicate to me whether you'd like chicken, veggie, or kosher meal;
whether you'd like to go to CPW, LDW, or an MVP conference; whether or not you'd
like a tshirt, and if so, what size. Also, please note that hotel rooms are
available for $55/night for up to quad occupancy. Please let me know all of this
stuff ASAP. I'm sending in the registration directly after the chapter meeting
on 12/3.
Lastly, next term's conclave (I know you're thinking "but we just got dayshifted
from *this* term's!" but we gotta plan ahead a bit) is hosted by MMA in Castine,
Maine from March 20-22. It'll be on a nifty big boat. There will be beds there
for everyone, but here's the catch. If we're within the first 100 people
registering, we get semi-private rooms. If we aren't, we get to room with 140 of
our closest friends. So, I'd like to get this in now. It's $28/person. Please
let me know whether you want the vegetarian option or not. They don't actually
ask for any other information in the registration, so I'm sure we'll figure the
rest out when we get there. So, like the regional registration, I want to *SEND
THIS IN* directly after the chapter meeting. If I already think you're going, it
wouldn't hurt to verify, plus I need to know whether you want vegetarian meal.
We'll debt list ya for it. If it turns out later that you cant go, but you get
someone to take your spot, you won't lose the money. I'm not sure whether they
offer refunds, though.
OK. Enough of me and my big mouth. Let me know bout formal tonight or tomorrow,
and let me know about others *asap*, but if you havent told me or change your
mind before chapter meeting, you will probably be ok. :/
Lizzie!
