Two jobs that I've helped with at the 100th Marathon were the medical
stations and communications. The medical stations required that you
know CPR and first aid, but nothing else. For communications, you
needed a ham radio license; hams were very important in coordinating
medical stations, emergency communications, field personel, etc. I
mention these two jobs because they are things that were very cool,
fun, and helpful; they also require some preparation. Anyone in the
chapter can get certified in CPR and first aid and get a ham radio
license by then, but you would have to start thinking about those
things soon. I can provide more info if anyone wants.
