Hi, all.
I wanted to send out mail about what workshops are in the works
for APO Conclave on Saturday, November 15. Workshops will run
from 8:30am to 11:30am that morning. Rooms are still being worked
out; the dance classes will be in W20-491, but others will be in
classrooms in Building 1.
The people below have mentioned interest in running these workshops.
I just want to confirm that interest still exists. I'd also like to
ask that each person send me a short blurb on their workshop that
can be listed in Conclave handouts. Sparky, can you get in touch
with Marylin, Mike, and mrn, or give me contact information for them?
Workshops: Person running workshop:
Pledge Forum Marylin Mims
Ballroom Dancing dcctdw
Square Dancing mdtanner
Large Service Projects mrn
Treasury & Fundraising kdahm
Robert's Rules ajw
Presidents Forum Mike Repetta
Grant Writing mrn
Other ideas for workshops that had been suggested are below. The
first four are essentially round table discussions, and simply would
need a moderator to direct them. I had hoped to run the "Tools &
Safety" workshop myself, but it was suggested that I should be
available for anything that comes up during workshops and should
thus not teach one; if someone is interested (current or past tools
chairs? :) come talk to me and I'll help. The last one on Advisors
would likely require someone with clue and preparation time; if
anyone is interested in this job, again come talk to me.
Chapter Discussion whatever chapters want to talk about
Alumni Discussion how alumni can support chapters
Service Roundtable service programs and problems
Membership Forum membership programs and problems
Tools & Safety simple training on basic tool use,
very basic first aid and safety ideas
Recruiting/Using Advisors how to make the most of a chapter's advisors
Also, if anyone else finds themselves psyched to run a workshop,
let me know your idea.
YiLFS,
+ Richard
