Help save lives!

The Red Cross will be holding a blood drive at MIT on October 28-31.
By giving blood or by volunteering your time at the blood drive, you
can help save lives. The dates and times are:
        Tue. 10/28 1pm - 7pm
        Wed. 10/29 10am - 4pm
        Thu. 10/30 1pm - 7pm
        Fri. 10/31 10am - 4pm
Call 461-2093 or visit http://web.mit.edu/aongg/www/blooddrive.html to
make an appointment, or just come as a walk-in.

The American Red Cross Blood Services must collect 1100 units of blood
daily to meet the needs of hospitalized patients in 200 medical
facilities throughout New England. The only source of blood is from
blood donors, and each unit donation can help as many as three patients.
Unfortunately, only 5% of the public donates blood.

Even if you are unable to donate blood, by volunteering your time you
can provide valuable assistance to the Red Cross's efforts. Some of
the services that volunteers may perform are advertising the drive,
registering donors, staffing the canteen, and providing moral support
to the donors. All these efforts are important to the drive's
success. To volunteer, send e-mail to <blood-drive-volunteers@mit.edu>.

If you are interested in hearing about future MIT blood drives, you
may want to be added to one or more of the following lists:
blood-drive - Information about upcoming MIT blood drives.
blood-drive-volunteers - Information about volunteering to
				 help at MIT blood drives.
You many add yourself to either or both of these lists using the
Athena commands blanche, listmaint, or mailmaint. Or, you may request
to be added to these lists by replying to this message or sending
e-mail to <blood-drive-request@mit.edu>.
