*SVP's report:
I'm lame, there's no project this Saturday. The Book Exchange signup
is going up in the office. Reg Day setup is at tomorrow at 4, then a
there will be a dinner trip, and after that we will have Book Exchange
setup. Chapter Weekend I is February 12-15, I need a PC! February 20
the project is Cambridge Port Children's Center, I need a PC!
February 6 I have a project and a PC; Crisis also need help. Book
exchange breakdown is on Saturday the 6th or maybe Friday evening;
there is a lab bench building project the same Saturday. February 27
is Conclave, the date will not be moving around any more. Newton Boy
Scouts are having a phone-a-thon Feb. 8th and 9th, do we want to get
involved? The Alumni Association is also having a telethon on several
dates. I want one or two more members of ServCom. First term
brothers? To sum up, I need PC's for: Chapter Weekend, the next
Saturday, and the AA phone-a-thon.
*MVP's report:
We've had two open meetings. I've seen and talked to prospectives.
11 or 12 exist. Most will pledge, I think; they are motivated or were
referred by brothers. Feb. 2nd is the third open meeting... come!
It's at 8-105, 8pm. Setup is at 7 pm. I want help for postering next
Sunday.
*AVP's report:
Officers should either speak slower or give me a copy of the report.
It would be really nice if you gave me a copy at the meeting.. or
even better, e-mailed it to me. (Yes, I can touch type. No, I don't
want to.) Thanks to Kate and Dave, and thanks in advance to the other
officers (itty bitty hint.)
*Treasurer's report:
Hi there. Having a wonderful time in Ireland (even though I was still
here when I wrote this) but I do have a couple of things to reports.
Mostly things to remind people.
1. Dave and Barbara ... payment for hotel rooms at nationals ??
2. I have not as yet received the food receipts for after-finals or
the list of people to charge for meals ... Gilbert ??
3. Out of curiosity ... did the last DJR order never arrive ??
4. Have fun at Reg Day
YiLFS,
Kate
PAY YOUR DUES!
*Fellowship Chair's report:
I'm here. :)
John McClain has agreed to make my life infinitely easier by accepting the
position of Social Chair. I've given him carte blanche with the social
aspects of the Fellowship program (parties, study breaks, and any other
innovations he comes up with), so if you have ideas or requests, talk to
him directly. Many many thanks.
Gilbert Leung, my little brother, has agreed to be my assistant with the
fellowship program. So, if you have a question about the Fellowship or
Social program, and you can't find either myself or John, try asking
Gilbert. Btw: new brothers: talk to Gilbert about DJR order.
Fellowship program:
My main focus for the fellowship program consists of the following points:
1. Membership retention. 2. Membership training. 3. Fostering
fellowship amongst brothers. 4. Bringing the three cardinal principles
closer together.
To help make this reality, please come to the FellowComm meeting on this
Saturday, 1-3pm, in the office. Munchies will be provided. This isn't
really a committee meeting: it's more a brainstorming session. Even if you
have no ideas on fellowship, come anyways.
Other notes:
Sabrina Goodman is currently in the hospital. There is a card in the
office for her if you want to sign it. Details of her condition are: she
has 4 more tumors on her brain; she is going in for radio-surgery tomorrow.
With any luck, she'll be back in CA by the weekend.
If you have any ideas about fellowship, please send them to me! Email is
preferred: dcctdw@athena.mit.edu
YiLFS,
dave
*APOcEd's report:
-not present, presumed jousting-
*ASC's report:
We had an office cleaning party. Thanks to everyone who came and
helped. Elections are coming up, any first term brothers considering
the office of ASC?..
*PubDir's report:
Amy has volunteered to redo the board in the infinite corridor.
[ and she did a really awesome job, too :) --AVP ]
*Historian's report:
-not present-
*Chairman of the Advisory Committee, report of:
Well, a couple of weeks ago I was invited to attend a seminar on
sexual harassment. Gave me a list of items. I'll pass them on to
Crystal for further distribution. I don't think we've got too much to
concern ourselves with, but apparently it's getting to be a serious
problem on campus... there have been lots of complaints filed.
*President's report:
Thanks for doing a great job so far. Keep it up! I've been working
on a leadership development proposal with Glenn for the next Chapter
Meeting. I looked through my desk and saw a lot of mold-y shingles.
I am addressing and sending them. Elections for junior offices are
Next Week! ASC, PubDir, and Historian.
*Committee reports:
Social Chair: I have a victim for Semiformal Formal. It will
probably be in EC. If you want to PC a study break, see me. I think
we have a budget. Someone suggested a Meet the Mold party -- mold are
alumni -- which is traditionally held in Fasset. Someone also
suggested that we have a party in the beginning of the term. If you
want to hold one, see me. I haven't found a PC for Steak Fry yet.
Book Exchange: At 11 pm a chart will go up. SIGN UP. (Ezra declaims
briefly on the subject of rectangles.) And then I want you to
ACTUALLY SHOW UP. This is Service To The Campus.
Ping: I'm putting out WUAPOs. I want updated information for
January/February. Now.
Glenn: I want a replacement safety chair. Barbara has filled the
first aid kit.
*Announcements
Jen'n: I'm looking for PCs!
Jen'n: I'm looking for members of ServComm! I am also disconcerted
that no one wanted to run for SVP. PCship is supposed to be a
developmental thing.
Ezra: Book Exchange!
John: The bylaws have been gnawing at me. Want a constitutional
convention (to bring the bylaws and what we actually do into sync)?
For example, friendly amendments are not dealt with in Robert's Rules
of Order, and they're not in the bylaws.
Dave: Give me ideas or I'll SUCK THEM FROM YOUR BRAIN! Even what you
think is dorky.
Ping: Give me schedule changes by midnight.
Jen'n: CSF Road Race is the same day as I Banquet.
Crystal: Jen'n talk to Sara. I have a message: Sabrina Goodman,
an alum, is in Brigham Women's Hospital. I will put the phone and
room numbers on the board so you can visit. (Someone says she is in
for radiation treatment.) Maybe we can get a card?
*PFTGOTO
Ezra: Thanks in advance for signing up!
Jen'n: Congrats to Ovidiu!
Dave: Suggestions on a seminar for subtlety will be accepted. [huh?]
