So this weekend, the Special Olyupics will be going on here at MIT.
Several people have already volunteered to help out at individual
events, like sailing, track & field, and aquatics, but due to the
nature of the event, everyone is pretty much doing their own thing.
They still need volunteers for any of their numerous
3-5 hour shifts throughout the weekend, especially for track & field
events and aquatics events, and even more so on Sunday. So come to the
office and check out the schedule of events (on my desk, soon to be
relocated to the bulletin board), see what you want to help
out with, and then show up in front of Johnson Athletic center 30 minutes
before you plan on working to register.
BTW: registered volunteers get t-shirts and are invited to a boat ride
for next week, but these perks won't even begin to compare to the warm,
fuzzy feeling you'll get working at the event.
'Ats all.
YiLFS,
Melissa
