Letter from the Editor
Hello there once again from the Apoc Ed. This is the fourth issue of
the Apocrypha. There aren't many original articles here, but there are
minutes from four meetings, the latest quotable brother, and a short
submission from Hannah in England.
Just to make you aware early, I am going to make the next Apocrypha
Topic be multi fold. One will be what you did with your copious free
time over spring break, as I am sure you will have a little time to
write about what you did and why it was so cool.
The second topic that I thought might interest people is the
fellowship program. How do people think the program is going? Do we
need more fellowship, and if so, what kinds of fellowship would you
like to see more of? What kinds of fellowship do you think are
effective, and which ones aren't that we should probably work on
improving?
Anyhow, think on these two topics, take ten minutes out of your life
and write me an article. Make me proud.
YiLFS,
Jeffrey
That Apoc Guy

An Article from Hannah
Hello, all you people on the other side of the Atlantic!
I've been here in England for not quite a month, and I think I'm
settling in nicely. Everyone here talks weird, especially the people on
my department at HP -- there are several Italians, quite a few French, a
couple Iranians, a Spaniard, and a Polish guy working in SMD (Systems
Management Department), so every one has a different accent. (Yes,
there are actually English people in the department, but they tend to be
manager-level.)
The weather here is actually quite lovely -- the daffodils started
coming out last week, and all the trees are in bloom. It hasn't snowed
once since I got here, though it rains fairly frequently. It's
definitely spring here, and I'm enjoying it immensely.
I got a bicycle to take to work It takes an hour by bus to get
to work, as opposed to half an hour by bike. There are some nice bike
trails out here also. The only problem is the hills Bristol is
quite hilly, so the trip is practically uphill both ways. I've managed
to convince myself that it's good for getting myself into shape, but I
haven't yet convinced myself to stop munching on chocolate bars.
:)
Anyway, I'll be back in Boston for Easter weekend, then I'm flying out
to California to visit graduate schools -- Caltech, Stanford, and
Berkeley in particular.
Hope everyone's term is going well, and maybe I'll see some of you in a
few weeks!
YiLFS,
-Hannah :)
