BOSTON HEALTH CARE FOR THE HOMELESS PROGRAM (BHCHP)

Position Opening: Network Administrator
Position reports to the Director of MIS.  The Network Administrator has
overall responsibility for the implementation, support, and development of 2
local area networks (LANS) and 50 stand alone workstations and computer
peripherals for multi-site health care delivery organization.

Position Description:
Ensure on-going security, efficiency, and continuous functioning of computer
systems to meet organization needs. Monitor network performance;
troubleshoot hardware/software problems; develop and monitor implementation
and integrity of daily backups; assist in creating and implementing disaster
plan.

Assist users with daily network functions. Provide basic support for
software and hardware as it relates to operational issues; install software
on network servers and individual workstations as necessary; administer user
accounts for access to networks; ensure integrity of remote access to
medical records data base from sites throughout greater Boston area.

Implement and install  new software, hardware, and computer peripherals.
Maintain inventory of hardware/software/spare parts and loaner pool of
laptop computers.  Troubleshoot, diagnose, and facilitate repair of
computers and peripherals. 

Assist in establishment and maintenance of appropriate software and hardware
security measures throughout the Program; ensure appropriate updates of
anti-virus software; maintain and monitor measures to help ensure security
of hardware at outreach sites.

Requirements:
Applicants should have an Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a related
field and/or have attained the requisite skills from prior work experience.
Experience with installing, configuring, upgrading, and trouble-shooting
LANS and PC workstations; experience with administering a Windows NTAS
network.  Strong organizational and problem solving skills; ability to
prioritize and work with multiple projects; ability to adapt to and function
effectively in a demanding and fast-paced service-oriented environment.
Experience working in a health care setting a plus.
