*SKATING PARTY*
12/13/96
Come defy superstition by gliding across the ice!
YOU should be out having fun!
It's FRIDAY!
Dale Worley and I (Darlene) are hosting a skating party this Friday
night. Meet us at the MDC Daly rink in Newton (see directions below)
between 7 and 9 for skating, followed by light refreshments at Dale's
place in Waltham.
Cost is $3 for admission. Skate rental is available for $4
additional.
We'd appreciate a RSVP to 617-643-2831, so we know how much food to
get. Still, the really important things to do are to: SHOW UP and
HAVE FUN. See you tomorrow!
Please feel free to forward this message to anyone likely to be
interested, and likely to be interesting. :-)
Yours in cold ice and hot chocolate,
Darlene

Directions to the MDC Daly Rink in Newton on Nonantum Road:
>From MIT:
Cross the Charles River and get on Storrow Drive going west. The road
changes its name to Soldiers' Field Road and then Nonantum Road.
About four miles west of MIT, just before reaching Watertown Square,
there will be a large rink building on the north/right/river side.
Turn into the parking lot on the right just before the rink.
>From Watertown Square:
Cross the Charles River and turn left onto Nonantum Road going east.
About 3/4 mile from Watertown Square, the rink will be on the
north/left/river side. Turn into the parking lot on the left just
after the rink.
>From Rt. 2 and points north:
Take Fresh Pond Parkway south until it crosses the Charles River.
Bear to the right to get onto Storrow Drive (Soldiers' Field Road)
going west. Continue with the "From MIT" directions.
>From the Mass Pike and points west:
Take the Mass Pike east and get off at the Newton (not West Newton)
exit. Exit off the rotary toward Watertown. At the big intersection
just before crossing the Charles River and entering Watertown Square,
turn right onto Nonantum Road going east. Continue with the "Watertown
Square".
Directions to Dale's place from the Daly rink:
In you don't know the roads:
Turn right coming out of the rink parking lot onto Nonantum Road going
west. After about 3/4 mile, you will come to the first stop light.
Turn right, cross the Charles River, and then turn left onto Main
Street, which is west on Rt. 20.
Follow Main Street about 2-1/2 miles to Waltham center, and then
another 1/2 mile. There will be a McDonald's on your right, followed
one block later by a Shaw's with a bright orange awning on your left.
Just before the awning, turn right onto Fiske St., just before "Tony
D's". 56 Fiske St. is the second building from the end of the first
block on the left. My apartment is the left door.
Park on the right side of the street on that block or the following
block, or take the second left onto Joy St. and park there.
If you know the roads:
Follow Nonantum Road west, through the light onto California St. Go
to the next major light, cross the Charles River on Bridge St. Turn
left onto Pleasant St./River St. and follow it to Waltham center. Go
around two sides of the central square, exiting west on Main St.
Continue with the above directions.
