NomComm met last night. We discussed the active brother list, and picked
out some people who would be particularly good at some office (by our
knowledge base...) who we will nominate at the next chapter meeting.

If you want to run for an office for which you have not been nominated
by NomComm, FEEL FREE TO RUN ANYWAY, ie have a friend nominate you, or
even nominate yourself.

I will be hunting brothers down to let them know what the recommendations
of NomComm are within the next week. Even if I have not yet gotten to you,
THINK ABOUT OFFICES ANYWAY.

Talk to previous holders of the offices you are considering. Find out about
the responsibilities (both from the bylaws and as they are actually
manifested via live people). Think about what you would like to do as
the holder of that office: what changes would you make? what would you
keep the same? how do the time responsibilities of the office overlap
with your other extra-curriculars and your classes (or study skills, depending
on which is most relevant for you)? what skills could you bring to the
office? what do you want to get out of the office? what skills do you
want to build through the office?

Then, come to the Nominations meeting (or send a proxy) and write a candidate
article for the APOcrypha, so that people can read about your ideas and
reasons for running.

Food for thought...
