Hi everybody!
Umoc is off to a quick start, mainly becuase I realized that the chapter
meeting is coming up fast and things need to get approved by the
chapter. This year, however, I intend to spruce up UMOC and give it a
new spin and new life. Ideas that Darlene Ford gave me <thanks a lot,
Darlene!> include having people run "in the spirit of" ugly sculptures
and edifices around campus, having Dorms have official candidates and
getting jars at dorm desks, sending candidate forms to student
activities so they can sponsor people and gain publicity/goodwill from
doing something "good"; having a button maker , to make buttons for
candidates, candidate teams, and brothers to wear; and have a really
cool eye-catching trophy at the booth that the winner will receive.
So, if anybody has any ideas to add to that <especially all you alums
who have seen different UMOCS than us actives have> please email me
asap.
Also, there will be a UMOC brainstorming session on Tuesday before the
chapter meeting at 5:15. We will meet in the office then and head down
to networks to eat dinner and discuss. Sorry for the short notice, but
all of these ideas need to get presented and approved this Tuesday night
at the meeting.
Please email me if you are coming so I know to expect you.
additionally, the button maker will be an investment for the chapter,
since it would be useful for TONS of different things. I was thinking
that since it would be used for publicity and service, it could be paid
for from the profits of drop poster sales. Treasurer and Pubdir, please
comment on this. It's just an idea of where the money would come from.
If anybody has a better idea, please tell me.
Additionally, there is a call for UMOC pc's
Treasury, Prizes, Manpower, and Publicity <I may already have a
candidates pc, I'm going to confirm that soon and get back to all of
you>
IF you're interested in pc'ing, please tell me soon.
I rather have pledges than brothers help out, but everybody please
respond
<to the pledges: a separate mailing will go out detailing all of the
pc-ships>
thanks!
