Want to get involved in some community service? I've participated
at the clubhouse in the past, and I thought it was a lot of fun. And
mentors get free T tokens to and from the clubhouse...

Feel free to distribute this bulletin. I can also help answer questions
about it. Mitch and Gail are real nice folks, so feel free to contact
them as well.

			 COMPUTER CLUBHOUSE
			 INFORMATION MEETING
		 Thursday, September 12, 6:30-7:30 pm
MIT Media Lab, Building E15, Room 054 (lower level)
			 (PIZZA PROVIDED!!!)

Would you like to do something worthwhile with your computer skills?
Would you like to help inner-city youth get excited about learning?

If so, you should know about the COMPUTER CLUBHOUSE, an innovative
after-school learning center where inner-city youth (ages 10-18) work
on computer-based projects growing out of their own interests.

At the Clubhouse, kids focus on MAKING THINGS -- using computers to
create their own animations, simulations, robots, interactive
newspapers, videogames, and Web sites.

You can volunteer as a "mentor" at any of four Clubhouse locations in
Boston, helping kids with their explorations, introducing new project
ideas and technologies, and serving as a role model.

To find out more, please come to the information session at 6:30 pm on
Thursday, September 12, in room 054 (lower level) at the Media Lab
(building E15, 20 Ames Street).

There will be PIZZA!

The Computer Clubhouse project is organized by The Computer Museum in
collaboration with the MIT Media Lab and local community centers. If
you have questions, contact Prof. Mitchel Resnick (mres@media.mit.edu)
or Clubhouse Director Gail Breslow (breslow@tcm.org).
