For those who missed the meeting, or were confused by it, here's the important
info regarding the National Conference in December:
-It is the 27th thru the 30th (4 full days)
-Travel there can be cheap if arrangements are made NOW
-Oscar will be driving from the San Diego, so if airfare to there is cheaper, you
can bum a ride off of him, and even sleep at his house on the night of
the 26th, if need be
-RPI may or may not have extra plane tickets (they bought a package earlier this
year)
-The costs of brothers going (_not_ just voting delegates) can be partially
assuaged by the National Lay-away fund, which is about $1200
-Anyone can go; only 2 voting delegates will be elected out of the n brothers
scheduled to go
-The two voting delegates will do official stuff and play; the others will
mainly just play
-There are hotel rooms that can be filled with people. They prefer only 4 per
room, but if y'all want to be really friendly, more can be squeezed
in, thereby making it cheaper.
-Glenn was a voting delegate last time around; he can tell you all about it!
-Voting delegates will be elected in October
-Proposed legislation is due in by SEPTEMBER 28th. If you want to draft
something for submission from the chapter, you need to bring it
to ExecComm next week so that the chapter can vote on it on the 24th.
If you want it to be a personal submission, feel free to bring it
to execcomm anyway for constructive criticism and other brainstorming.
-The whole legislation packet will come back to us in late October, at which
time a committtee will form to go over the stuff and pick out the real
gems to discuss. All legislation will be voted on by the Chapter,
so that the delegates know what way we want them to vote (prior to
in-Nationals committee changes).
-The delegates at Nationals will do the final vote on items that make it out
of committee.
