I'm sorry if this is a little long folks, but I'd rather send out
one big letter then flood your boxes with little ones. Please read.

I. Rush rules.

A lot of people have asked me about rush rules. I have checked with Doug
Wyatt, head of the ASA, and there ARE NO SPECIFIC RUSH RULES ASSOCIATED
with student activities, with the exception that NO STUDENT ACTIVITY
CAN HAVE AN EVENT before the activities midway. That's it. Except
of course for the rules we impose on ourselves. To answer a few direct
questions:

Yes, we can wear shirts that say APO whenever we want. The restriction
on letters is self imposed by IFC and the dormitories on it's own workers.
It does not apply to us. I suggest wearing them if you've got them.
They're cool (don't flaunt it obviously, we don't want trouble). If anyone
gives you trouble, you can explain this to them, or refer them to me and
I will deal with it.

Yes, we can talk to freshmen about APO (unless you can't talk to freshmen
at all because of where you live. if no one has told you otherwise,
you are fine). Once again, I would suggest doing so. It is cool.

Yes, we can advertise events as soon as we want. We just can't actually
hold events until after activities midway.

Those are all the specific questions I remember. If you have more,
please ask me, but basically, there's only the one rule.

II. Rush schedule

Most of you know most of this, but there were a few changes, so here's the
whole thing

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Thursday, Aug 22nd- Thursday Night Dinner

Not officially an APO thing, but some of us are taking a Thursday Night
Dinner group to the Market Place Grill (they have crayons :)

Person doing most of the work: Jill

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Tuesday, Aug 27th- Activities Midway. PC: me

We have two tables. Harry put together a really nice looking raffle ticket
design for the small press, which we will be bringing along. That way
we can print up raffle tickets on the spot. We will be raffling off a
$20 gift certificate to Tower Records. The catch is that they have to bring
the ticket to one of our open projects, social events, or skill days to
be entered :)
We also have a cool LED display sign courtesy of Lizzie. It will be flashing
cool apo logo things (probably on a dexion type stand).
We also will have an updated picture board.
We also will be giving out more of the flyers with apo banners that emily
has been screening (like the ones we sent to the freshmen at the beginning
of the summer) and a list of our upcoming events.
