The Red Cross says that the need for blood donations is urgent. Wherever
you are, if you are eligible to donate, please consider doing so.
This Tuesday is time for third Thursday of every odd numbered month
Blood Drive and Dinner Trip. I've already been contacted by one person
who is planning on giving, but not going to dinner. That seems prudent.
I have an appointment for 6:15.
The location:
American Legion Burlington
162 Winn St.
Burlington, MA 01803
The Red cross will be there Tuesday, 3/17, 1 pm - 7 pm
or donate at a blood drive near you.
Here's what the Red Cross has to say about COVID-19 and donating:
The American Red Cross has implemented new blood donation deferrals out
of an abundance of caution. We are now asking that individuals postpone
their donation for 28 days following:
 	* Travel to China and its special administrative regions, Hong Kong
and Macau, as well as Iran, Italy and South Korea.
 	* Diagnosis of COVID-19, contact with a person who has the virus, or
is suspected to have it.
As the situation evolves, the Red Cross will continue to evaluate all
emerging risks in collaboration with the U.S. Food and Drug
Administration, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and industry
partners to determine if additional intervention strategies are needed.
Together, we stand ready to keep the American public informed and
prepared.
If you are feeling healthy, there is an urgent need for donors to come
in and give blood, platelets, or AB Elite plasma.
Let me know if you are planning on donating.

Ellen Kranzer
