Hi Almost a 1000 Brothers,
0. I have Bcc:ed the lists Yale, Josh, & Steve inadvertently emailed to.
Please be careful about using the "Reply To Just The Sender" versus the
"Reply to Everybody" commands in your email program.
1. Will McCarthy, AX President, is on top of Yales' 1. to 5. =20
Except the only part of 5. he is leading. is preserving AX's memorabilia, p=
apers, & digital archive. =20
Re-chartering is for a future group of students.
2. Thanks to Yale for his due diligence as an AX Advisor. =20
Yale, Josh, Steve, any all of you for your help & care.
3. See the Doodle Will emailed about, if you can come to MIT & help.
YiLF&S, Len

Subject: Office clean-out
Hi Brothers,
I plowed through all the correspondence on Saturday's clean-out activities =
and would like to ask whether there is a plan addressing various issues tha=
t came up in the correspondence a swell as others that have occurred to me:
1. Has AX's space in 415 been assigned to another group? If so, by what da=
te do they expect to be able to occupy it? We should not expect much patie=
nce once that date arrives, and it seems possible, if not likely, that acce=
ss to the room may be lost by canceling the access list, changing a combina=
tion, or even changing the key. Once that happens, it is likely that ASA o=
r CAC admins will send in Physical Plant (or whatever it is called in 2019)=
to clean out AX's "stuff." What happens to it if they do?
2. Len appears to be under the impression that the Letter Press can remain =
where it is, along with at some subset of the tools, for another few months=
. Does AX or Len have permission for this? Is there a place to which the =
Press can be moved? Is there a plan for how to move it? I ask the last it=
em because I participated in dragging the press into 415. At the time, the=
re was a large number of young men to work on this; everyone who did so is =
now on Medicare and even working together we might not be physically able t=
o move it.
3. What will happen to the various kinds of memorabilia? Small stuff may b=
e simple, but how about the giant screw? The poster collection? Has anyon=
e spoken with MIT archives about holding material of historical significanc=
e? I recall a query about the comic books; has that been addressed?
4. Will the other materials, tools, cabinets, dexion, etc. be given away? =
Do we have someone who will take/receive them? If not, what is the plan f=
or storing them and for what purpose and for how long? If we don't give th=
e stuff away or store it, is there a plan to dispose of it?
5. Do we have a plan for re-establishing the Chapter in a form that would m=
ake reclaiming any of these items both desirable and feasible? A return to=
415 is probably not in the cards; is there, even potentially, another spac=
e that would permit reclaiming any of the various items now being inventori=
ed?
I'm sure there are other issues I haven't thought about. If there is a pla=
n for addressing these issues, I suspect those who read these messages woul=
d like to hear it. If not, then maybe we should come up with one.
YiLFS,
Yale
