Hi everyone, I finally have some info on my vision. MIT's First Annual
Alternative Spring Break Trip will be to Washington D.C. to volunteer in
inner-city shcools with teachers in the Teach for America program.
We (all those who are interested) will be heading (most likely driving in a big
van) down to D.C. on Saturday March 23rd and coming back to Boston on Saturday
March 30th. We will hopefully spend Sunday afternoon doing some physical work
like cleaning up a school and then spend the rest of the week working with
teachers in classrooms. At night we will have some fun activities and tour
around D.C.
Please encourage other students to join us. The expense should be minimal -
around $100 for everything. The people in D.C. would like to know ASAP, how
many people are coming as well as everyone's major so they can assign us to
teachers. Also, if you have any cool lab stuff or ideas for experiments that
we could bring down there or set-up and teach to a class please let me know.
If you are interested then email your..
1. Name
2. Year
3. Major
4. Any ideas for science experiments
5. Preferrece for what age or class to work with (i.e. junior high - biology)
** if you have no preference that's fine**
Spread the word about this great opportunity!
