Having volunteered for the duties of "composing"
Roll Call for the National Convention, I am now
looking for any and all suggestions. (I'm interested
in anything you might suggest. Even if it doesn't
work out, it might be the start of something better.)
For those not in the know, "Roll Call" is when, at
a convention, each chapter present is asked to get
up and "present" themselves. Usually this means
singing (almost always out of key) some pop song
with new words. (Last year at Regionals the most
popular song was the Addam's Family TV Show theme.)
Some chapters do little skits or even poems. They
usually try to humorous, though some chapter's
definition of humorous falls in our definition of
"bad taste".
Roll Call happens at Conclaves, Regional and National
conventions. Usually, we (AX) wait until we get to
the convention before making up something a few hours
beforehand. (Recently, we've done take-offs on
"Let it Be"--a la "MIT" in Sour Notes--and the
"Chorallies of MIT" song. Not to mention the MIT
Engineer's Drinking Song, which we do whenever we
don't have anything better.)
I'd rather not have to do the drinking song, so
please send suggestions!!!!
YiS (Yours in Song)
Alan
PS. We have to fit it in one minute. (60 seconds
or less. They have a timer.)
