I mistakenly attributed a quote to Ingrid, when it was Alexis who spoke it. My
apologies.
If anyone else has a problem with the notes, let me know.

Minutes of ExecCom Meeting (Sept. 26, 1995)

Administrative  notes:
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Start:  7:30 pm; End: 7:58 pm. Present: Rachel, Susan, Mike, Ingrid,
Alexis, Karen, Harry, Kate, Ari, Joe, Sparky, Bob, Kevin, Richard, Joe,
and Sparky
Officers'  reports:
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
SVP (Cathy): We went to Stoneham Zoo. We didn't muck a duck
       pond; we raked leaves instead, so for those who didn't want
       much, bleh to you. This Sunday we are having a project helping
       with a fundraiser for "the Nutcracker." I need a PC for the
       project on the 14th (Cambridge Children's Center) the project
       on the 21st needs a PC (at the National Braille Press) and the
       project on the 28th at George's Island needs a PC relatively soon
       so we don't end up judging costumes which not everyone liked
       last year. This weekend is Chapter Skills weekend. Printing is
       being taught by Harry and Kate. Two pledges are interested,
       so there is no more room to have anyone learn printing. Silk
       screening is being taught by Laurel from 9 to 1 on Saturday.
       CPR is being taught from 9 to 3 (somewhere) at the Med Center.
       I need to know how many are interested in that so I can tell
       Jen'n. Sunday at 3 pm treasury wil be taught by Yale, or if
       Yale's not available, then Kevin. It should take 2 hours or so.
       Chapter Weekend I is next weekend. A signup sheet is going
       around. The project at Shriner's Children's Hospital has been
       indefinitely delayed.

MVP (Kevin): We have 9 pledges, so we can now start imbuing them
       with the spirit of Alpha Phi Omega or whatever. Yesterday was
       the first pledge meeting. The first big event coming for pledges
       is this weekend, Chapter Skills weekend. I would like to talk to
       each person who is teaching a skill this weekend if I can. Pledge
       Article meal is coming up. About 1/2 the pledges can't come to
       the time we've scheduled it (Oct. 6), so I may move it to that
       Thursday of have it at Chapter Weekend. I still need someone
       to cook. [For those of you who have requested a Big Brother
       Study Break] if Jeffrey is up to it, we could have a Big Brother
       Study Break sometime next week. Currently three pledges have
       big brothers.

AVP (Karen): I need to update lists [and get Ari and Chris a key!]
       Other than that, nothing to report.

Treasurer (Kate, for now): We have money. We don't have a lot
       of money, but we have enough. I need to talk to Susan. We
       have a thousand dollars in the checking account that should get
       us through the semester. Dues are due by next meeting or you
       won't get APOcs. I can't assume a brother wants to be active
       unless he tells me. Dues are 8 dollars and 50 cents. Someone
       should decide what to do [about treasury] for the rest of the
       semester. Oh, if anyone knows where the food list from Talbot
       House, please give it to me. [Jeffrey has it.]

FC (Jeffrey): There's a study break this Thursday to celebrate Harry's
       birthday. Please come.
APOcEd (Chris): in absents report (read by Karen) I have precar-
       iously few articles for issue 2. Please write. Also I need a list
       of financially actives for distribution ASAP. Those who didn't
       write "what I did over vacation" articles, write them. Those
       who did and anyone else, write about the term or whatever, just
       write. -Falling

ASC (Ari): I still don't have a key [Sorry! -Karen] so the office is still
       a mess. ALso, someone erased my first Fellowship event.

PubDir (Susan): I bought drop poster paints. I'm also learning how
       to mix paints. I have to talk to HArry about buying drop poster
       paper. I will update the board by next week.

Historian (Bob): I took pictures! Ingrid, did you take pictures at the
       last pledge ceremony? [No, the 5.12 test was more important] I
       just took pictures at tonight's pledge ceremony and on project
       this weekend.

Richard: You should take pictures of all the pledges.

Advisory Comm. Chair (Joe): Nothing to report from the com-
       mittee, but from Nationals, we received a chart reaffirmation for
       which needs to be filled out and returned to the national office.

Committee  reports:
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Book Exchange
       Alexis:   We made 14,105 dollars!  Sign up for office hours this
       week so people can pick up checks and books.
Kate:  We are missing 100 dollars in books, but APO made 300 dollars;
       100 dollars will go to pay for the 100 dollars in lost books, and
       the 200 dollars left over will be donated to a charity to be voted
       on at a later date.
UMOC
       Ingrid:  I almost have a committee for UMOC. There might be
       a pledge in charge of manpower (Richard may not have to do
       it.) I still need a prizes PC. I will be presenting updated rules
       at next meeting.
President  (Harry):  Next meeting we will be voting to reapprove
       advisors.  We will probably vote Larry from Rust College as a
       new advisor if there aren't any objections.  Also remember to
       pay dues.
Old  Business:
~~~~~~~~~~~~~
none
New  Business:
~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Rachel:    This is kind of new business [or old?].  There is a lot of
       clue amoung brothers who will be graduating soon or who have
       recently graduated, and many of the younger members are rein-
       venting the wheel. We have a mentor list that no onw uses. Use
       it! Relay this information to other people.
Announcements:
~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Cathy: I need a PC for the 14th, the 21st, the 28th, etc. Chapter
       Weekend is coming up. I don't care if no one wants to go to the
       Boston Ballet; I'm going myself. Susan and I are sponsoring a
       study break on the 12th on the Red line called the "Raw meat
       and popcorn Study Break on the the 3rd rail."

Jeffrey: There was a big discussion on how this became the title.

Alexis: Sign up for office hours.

Sparky or "Richard": This Thursday at 9 pm, BU is having a pledge
       ceremony. If anyone is interested in coming (after the Study
       Break), talk to me. I'll be leaving around 8:30.

Jeffrey:  I need Chapter Weekend I sub-PCs.

Kate: When people do weird things when taking drop poster receipts,
       please don't write cryptic notes on them. Write in English!
       Thanks. You will make the treasurer very happy.

PFTGOTO:
~~~~~~~
Rachel:  When your 6.035 team flakes, that sucks.
Cathy:  Matlab sucks.
Harry:  Having to grade 6.035 problem sets sucks.
Bob, who likes to be misquoted:   Biophysics sucks.  [Here's the mis-
       quote: I would LOVE to take Junior lab one more time!]
Alexis:   People who PFTGOTO that something sucks shouldn't do
       that anymore.
Cathy:  In that case, Matlab is cool! I LOVE Matlab. I couldn't have
       more appreciation for it.
Bob:  Well, my phase two paper didn't suck.
Jeffrey:  6.004 lab sucks.
Harry:  Well, I have a birthday on Thursday, and that doesn't suck.
Richard:  Everyone saying things suck sucks.
[After that, I lost track.]
Meeting adjourned to a Fellowship Circle and toast song at 7:58 pm.
