Hi AX,
Next Monday around 8:15pm (before Exec and immediately after
catherio's most excellent membership-discussion Mary's mob), *NomComm*
(the Nominations Committee) will be meeting in the APOffice. All are
welcome. In keeping with the name of the committee, snack-type noms
will be provided.
"What's NomComm?", you might ask. Let me enlighten you!
Basically, it's NomComm's job to make sure the chapter has lots of
good candidates for the senior officer positions that we'll be
electing in 3.5 weeks now - President, SVP, MVP, FVP, Treausrer, AC,
and PubDir. This isn't a very hard job, since our chapter is full of
strong candidates, but a lot of times they might not have thought of a
particular position they'd be perfect for. So NomComm will be coming
up with a bunch of people we think would do well in each role, and
then encouraging them to accept nominations. We're trying to broaden
the field, not narrow it, given that Leadership is so important to us.
:-)
So, if you have interest in suggesting people, pestering people, or
are just curious, I encourage you to come to the office at 8:15pm on
Wednesday!
