There was a conclave! 6 brothers went - it was awesome.

We got the Conclave bid! Chair will be appointed along with other officers,
before the beginning of next term. Blanche

NOMCOMM
-------
will meet before the next chapter meeting.
catherio, oremanj, kkuhn interested.

SERVICE PROJECTS
---------------

Lego project happened. We did 15 sets.

Knitting circle happened! 1 non-APO person showed up, more in the future.

Big Screw going well. Blurb in the Tech! Postering party right after chapter
meeting.

Likely no chapter weekend. :( But Afterfinals is promising!

City Sprouts helps kids plant gardens at elementary schools. But their
project are on Thursdays... there's interest, but not a lot of availability.
Josh and Catherine might be able to swing it.

Boston Marathon volunteering - Patriot's Day weekend. Lots of interest, even
if we do end up doing Chapter Weekend.

Walk for Hunger. May 1, 10:30-2:30pm. Very close. Lots of interest, but no
one can commit.

BU needs a few extra hands to help out with Prison Books on April 16.

This Saturday, April 2: BU's Siblympics, providing manpower. In Boston
Common.

FELLOWSHIP PROJECTS
------------------

In the works: Wendy and Shawn want to do croquet!
Brogan wants to bring people to Vermont!
Lydia wants to do a Hiking trip!

LET'S GO!!!

MEMCOMM
--------
meetings are boring. let's food mob and talk about the chapter!
NEXT MONDAY. after Big Screw money counting.

AMENDMENTS
-----------
1. specifying *academic* term
2. specifies Active membership, grammar fixes
3. clarify three-weeks-prior clause
4. associate members. There has been a shift towards more members who are
too hosed to be active, but still desire some involvment in the chapter.
Allows the chapter to determine on a term-by-term basis exactly what being
an associate means, just as we do for actives.
5. associate members will now be reported as such to national fraternity.
6. explicitly defines inactive membership.
7. clarifying definition of "alumni member". we think "a member shall not
fall into more than one category of membership" should be removed. Because
some people are both alumni and advisors.
8. organization
9. in case of suspension - President presides, not Chairman of Advisory
Committee. General feeling is that we should keep it as the Chairman.

-- Amendment 9 is split into an amendment concerning wording changes, and an
amendment concerning the whole President/Advisor presiding business.

10. Requiring notification for voting on Chapter Life members.
11. More explicitly describing Chapter Life membership. Currently empty.
Will probably be dealt with...next time we amend the bylaws.
12. Officers -> Senior Officers
13. Changing MVP -> PVP. Bylaws indicate that MVP basically just deals with
Pledges.

---
discussion about Membership, Pledge, Brotherhood, Fellowship. General
feeling that there should be 3 separate positions: Pledge, Membership,
Fellowship. Should Pledge or Membership be appointed?

See http://web.mit.edu/kkuhn/Public/fvp-mvp.jpg for an exciting diagram
drawn by catherio.

Discussion will be moved to an apo-discuss thread.

14. aesthetic.
15. did I miss one? maybe.
16. List of chairs moved to Standing Policies.
17. aesthetic.
18. Officer removal.

-- Amendment 18 is split into before and after the President presiding.

19. Pres is member of Advisory committe.

...I lost track, I'm sorry. I'll take notes on anything we discuss.

##. Treasurer duties.
Just because Treasurers haven't been submitting monthly reports, doesn't
mean that it should be taken out of the bylaws. Also, per the National
bylaws, we may need to actively review as chapter, in addition to the legal
audit that SAFO does.

Amendment to add this statement to the amendment:
"He shall follow all National regulations with respect to financial records"

##. Faculty Advisors
change to "members of faculty or staff". We have had a lot of faculty
advisors which are actually staff.
We added the statement:
"The Faculty Advisors are encouraged to attend chapter meetings and other
chapter activities." This statement was voted to be added to the description
of the other advisors.
