Hey AX!!
Some of you may have heard of the Gordon Engineering Leadership (GEL) progr=
am. But for those of you who haven't, it's a one year program that exposes =
you to hands-on leadership in the context of engineering at MIT. Myself and=
Andrew Farrell are currently in the first year of the program and are lovi=
ng it!
In the program, you'll get the chance to develop your leadership skills thr=
ough situations modeled from real engineering experiences. You'll get strai=
ghtforward, immediate feedback on how you're improving in the 12 core areas=
of leadership, what we in GEL call the "Characteristics of Effective Engin=
eering Leaders."
The program is open to Sophomores and Juniors, and we have students from ev=
ery engineering major. We also have tremendous networking connections: Peop=
le from Apple, Ford, BP, Geosyntec and other leading companies participate =
on our Industry Advisory Board.
If you've ever aspired to be the person in charge of any size engineering c=
ompany, from startup to Fortune 500, the GEL program will give you the skil=
l set you need to be ready to take on any challenge.
