Help please!

I'm writing a security guide that will be available free on the web. (for my final year at uni)

It will cover email security & internet transactions. The idea is to make business users more aware of the need for security.
What I am after is some real life examples of security attacks which have occured in either of the above.
Any help will be gratefully received. All material in the guide will be fully referenced (author, date etc.)
Also a few examples of web site vandalism would also be very useful.
Your own views on an incident - i.e. how it could have been avoided etc. are welcome and if quoted will also be referenced.
If you want to remain anonomous say so and it will be so!

Thank you very much in advance for sharing your expert opinions and experiences.
