would this translate to if you mistyped your password a few times the
data would be deleted? What constitutes "hacker attempts"? Running a
brute force attack against the prompt? I would think that with a
carefully chosen passwd you could eliminate the chances of this. From
what it sounds like you have a boot password set in your bios. I suppose
I have seen little hacks to go around the password, but they were bios
specific. I suppose if I wanted to get past a bios password bad enough,
and had the opportunity to hack the machine I would pop the battery out
and reset the sucker. I can't think of anything to defend from that. by
the way, what does this have to do with WWW-security?
